Beautiful Mother’s Day Baskets And What To Put In Them

Mother’s Day is celebrated every year on the Sunday after the first full week of May. This year it’s the 9th. It can be very difficult to find the right gift for your mother and grandmother, but I’m here to change that for this year!

My siblings and I usually get my mother an Edible Arrangement for Mother’s Day, but we stood in line for over three hours to pick it up last year. I want to try something different this year, so here are just a couple of ideas for Mother’s Day baskets to get for your mom and what to put in them!

1. Mom’s Emergency Stash

Mother’s Day baskets can be fun to make. This one is easy to make yourself unless you really want to buy it off the internet. You can also make this with very little money, too, if you are limited on how much you can spend. This can really be used for almost any holiday or even as a birthday gift.

You just need to get a compartment box or a box you can put several different things in without it looking overfilled. You can buy one of these at the Dollar Store or anywhere that sells containers to store things in. Buy your mother’s favorite candies, at least three or four. Then put the candy in the container. You can make a card to go along with the container, or you can just give this box to your mother. She will love it either way!

2. Mother’s Day Valentine’s Gift Basket

Mother’s Day baskets usually have some type of candy in them, and this one you will make yourself. This basket you can buy online, or you can make the lollipops yourself. It won’t cost much to make them, but I think it’s a lot of fun. Everything you need can be bought at a craft store or a grocery store.

First, you need to buy the candy molds, hearts would be best, and melting candy. You can buy any kind of chocolate, and you can get sprinkles if you want. Clean the molds first, so there’s no dust or anything in your candy, and melt the chocolate. When it’s liquid, pour the chocolate into the molds and freeze. It should take between two and three hours to freeze properly, or you could leave the chocolate in the freezer overnight. You can wrap them in candy bags with a pink ribbon around them before putting them in a basket, or you can just put them in the basket without any covering.

3. Mother’s Day Gift Basket

Mother’s Day baskets are supposed to come from the heart. This one is entirely up to you to make. There is no set way to do it, just get what you think your mother would like the best. This basket might be a little more expensive than the previous two, but it might be worth the extra money spent, especially if you get what your mother would like the best.

I just got a basket at a container store and filled it up with my mom’s favorites. You can put candles, chapstick, makeup, favorite candies, picture frames, fruit, anything you can think of. This basket is one hundred percent your own, so be creative with it. I made a basket up entirely of cooking supplies before. You can also put flowers or seeds for a garden your mother’s been planning on starting. Anything you think she might be interested in for a new hobby would work, too. My mother likes to cross-stitch, so getting supplies for her hobbies is always a nice option when you don’t know what to get. You can also get her something you’ve seen her do before, that way you know she likes it.

4. Lavender Relaxation Spa Gift Basket

Mother’s Day baskets are meant to be relaxing, so get your mother something to help her relax. She deserves it. This basket can be made by you or you can buy it from a store. Either way, a spa day is what your mother deserves, so get her something nice that she’ll love. Unless she’s like my mother, then maybe don’t get her spa things.

This one is easy to make. Fill a basket up with spa-related things. Buy her favorite scented hand cream and body wash. Maybe get her favorite shampoo and makeup. Get her a new hairbrush or new nail polish to do her nails. Maybe a new sponge for the shower would be nice. Basically, get her anything that she would like for a self-care day. Everyone deserves to have a day off to take better care of themselves. Maybe your mother deserves one a little bit more than others.

5. Classic Mother’s Day Gift Crate

Mother’s Day baskets wouldn’t be complete without food. Not just candy, either. You need to include cookies and fruits. This is one that would be much easier to buy than it would be to make, although it might be much more expensive to buy online. Either way, it will be a good option because food is always a good choice.

Food is always the go-to for every gift. This is where you can get creative. You can get chocolate-covered pretzels or cashews like my family always does. Or you can get chocolate-covered fruit like Edible Arrangements do. My mother loves anything chocolate-related, so that’s always a good option when you don’t know what else to get. You can always get anything that comes in packages or boxes because those can last for a long time. Baking supplies are always a good option to go with along with the food, that way your mother can make the things you got her on her own if she liked it enough.
