8 Autumn Dinner Recipes You’ll Want To Eat Every Night

Autumn is the season of creamy, buttery textures, sweet n’ spice-filled flavours and warm bellies! The best Autumn dinner recipes will cater to exactly that! Here is a list of some of my favourites that’ll stick with you all autumn long, and maybe even after!

1. Pumpkin Quinoa Salad

Nothing says Autumn like pumpkin! What café isn’t going to be selling seasonal pumpkin-spiced lattes and pumpkin pies this time of year? But for this Autumn dinner recipe, sweet and creamy pumpkin is being paired with light and fresh quinoa to make a tasty light dinner combo!

2. Roast potato and red onion soup

No one needs to be told that this classic combo is a winner. But what if this Sunday roast staple was twisted into a hearty bowl of soup? In this Autumn dinner recipe, we do exactly that! Try adding a pinch of sage and rosemary on top to really make this belly warming winner come to life!

3. Garlic shitake mushroom pasta

Way, waaaay back, before supermarkets and fridges, mushrooms were foraged for in woodland areas and were an absolute staple for the autumn period in England! Here, for a little exotic twist, you can try using Japanese shitake mushrooms to help the intense umami flavour really come through. As a bonus tip for this Autumn dinner recipe, why not add a little lemon juice to give a little extra zing to your garlic!

4. Butternut squash and feta risotto

Another natural go-to ingredient for an Autumn dinner recipe would be the sweet an nutty butternut squash! Perfect to use for the creaminess of a risotto! And the salty tang and crumbliness of the feta makes for a great rival against the butternut’s sweetness! May the battle of the flavours commence!

5. Pear and brie toasties

A more simplistic option for those quiet Friday nights. Or right after those midweek cramming sessions where you’re up until 3am and completely forgot that dinner was a thing. These tasty treats can be whipped up in 2 minutes flat with minimal effort. The earthy flavours of the brie and the juiciness of the pear really do make the perfect…pair. Get it?

6. Roasted sweet potato chips and egg

Did someone say breakfast for dinner? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with this Autumn dinner recipe! But how about instead of a soft-boiled egg with toast soldiers, you make it with some thick and crispy sweet potato chips! Sweet potato peak season usually falls around October through to November, making it a great choice for the Autumn season. Just don’t forget to roast those chips well if you really want to bring out the natural syrupiness of the sweet potato! For extra flavour, a little thyme and paprika will go nicely with sweet potato and egg!

7. Wild mushroom tartlets

Sometimes nothing satisfies the cravings more than a really good puff pastry! These wild mushroom tartlets really hit all the sweet spots with a creamy sauce, woody mushroom flavours and, of course, the enjoyable crunch of a well-cooked puff pastry! But why stop there? This dish could partnered well with side of golden oven-baked chips or even a simple salad with balsamic vinegar.

8. Pan-fried Cinnamon prawns

How about a lighter option? For those nights where you just can’t stomach a whole lot of carb. Cinnamon and prawns might seem like an odd combo. But this one might just surprise you if you give it a chance! Cinnamon is a potent tree bark spice packed with a big kick that’s akin to chilli in a frying pan. Your prawns will take on a life of their own with this weird seafood-sweet spice combo that your palate will never be able to forget. These zingy prawns will go great with buckwheat noodles or a bed of wild rice!
