Absolutely Everything You Need To Bring To Marist Beach

When it’s the first warm and sunny day of the spring season at Marist College, the students gather on the lawn that looks over the river to soak up some vitamin D and have a little fun. Soon enough, students began calling the lawn, Marist Beach. As the lovely sunny days continue, students continue to hang out on Marist Beach, enjoying the nice weather. If you’re a Marist student who finds themselves headed to Marist Beach to enjoy the sun, you won’t want to forget these items.

1. A blanket or towel to lie on.

It’s nice to be one with the earth, but it is so much more comfortable and less itchy to lie down on a blanket or towel. Not only that, but it’s the perfect way to mark a meet up spot while you or your friends waltz around Marist Beach saying hello to other students you know.

2. Headphones or a Bluetooth speaker to listen to music.

If you’re hanging out at Marist Beach with your friends, the best thing to put you in a happy mood is putting on some music to get the party started. Whether you are listening to the music by yourself or enjoying the music with your friends it is the best way to put you in the right mood to enjoy the weather.

3. Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat to block off the sun.

Even though no one wants to admit that they will get burnt in the spring season, it is important to protect yourself from the sun because at the end of the day no one wants to go home looking like a lobster. So know that you will get burned at Marist Beach like you would at any other beach. So be good to your skin and lather some sunscreen on, throw on a cute pair of shades, and a fun hat.

4. Outdoor activities to stay active.

When you attend Marist Beach for the first time, the first thing you will notice is that there a bunch of people playing different activities. Some of the most popular outdoor activities that you will see at Marist Beach are Can Jam, tossing a frisbee or football, or Spikeball. You could also bring a soccer ball, corn hole, or honestly any other sporty activity to get everybody playing.

5. A FUN book to read.

When you constantly are focussed on your school work you have no time to enjoy a good book. I know not everyone likes to read for fun, but if you’re like me where it is one of your favorite hobbies then it would be a shame to forget the book. When it’s a beautiful sunny day out and all you want to do is relax, I always find the best way to relax is by reading a good book. And with so much homework, you never have to time to enjoy a good book. So, don’t forget your fun book.

6. Snacks to nibble on and drinks to sip on.

When you attend Marist Beach, you will want to stay for hours and probably won’t leave until the sun go down. So, you will want to bring a couple snacks to tide you over and lots of water to keep you hydrated. With the sun beating down on you all day, there could be a chance of fainting from the heat. Therefore, it’s important to keep yourself hydrated and your belly full. You could always take a trip inside to get something to eat or drink, but it’s easier to bring it all at once.

Is there anything else you should bring to Marist Beach that should be on this list? Share in the comments below!

Hey everybody! I am a junior studying English Writing while double minoring in Creative Writing and Music. I love to read, write, ski, travel, sail, and sing. I spend the majority of my time with my family and friends, but my "me" time consists of lots of reading and writing. I hope to one day be a published author and possibly work for a publishing house as an editorial assistant because who doesn't want to read for a living! That being said, I prefer to read science fiction & fantasy, romance, and historical fiction; and I enjoy reading about fairytales, folklore, and myths. Some of my favorite series are The Selection series by Kiera Cass, Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling, and the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer.
