10 Fall Dish Ideas You Need To Try

It’s leaf season, but when you’re tired of raking in the pile and you just want to come inside, you’ll want a meal or snack inside the fridge that can give you the energy jumping into that pile took away from you. Whether or not you plan on having a ton of guests, having the ingredients to whip up a few select dishes whenever you need can truly be a lifesaver. Sit back, pull up one of the many recipe sites other than Pinterest on your laptop, and let’s see what fall dish ideas you should make this coming fall!

1. Apple Pie

Well duh. It might should not be listed as a meal, but it’s a dish, and it will make you and your company very, very happy. Play around by adding extra cinnamon or some vanilla flavoring to the mix in order to make it taste like a sweet kick. Throwing a splash of cranberry juice to the mix might not be such a bad idea either, really just whatever you think is rich enough to taste delicious with the pie before you get cracking on that thin crust.

2. Fried Chicken With Apples

Caramelized apples are the sweet side you never knew you needed amongst that fried chicken, and you get bonus points if you decided to attempt to prepare the chicken by soaking it within some tasty cider first. The textures are very different, but they taste delicious together!

3. White Chili

White chili is a rich classic that will serve you well for any sort of fall-related meal. It keeps well so you can make as much as you want and save the rest to eat, and it’s pretty dang good if you’re cooking to impress. Stock up on Ritz crackers and have cream cheese ready for those who want to add it, but you should be fine leaving it out and watching your new cooking fans go rabid.

4. Chicken Croissants

Consisting of shredded chicken, cream cheese, celery, and onion, you might not have heard of these delectable treats. Chicken croissants are delicious and taste the best warm when they are fresh out of the oven. You might not have had them, but they are more than worth the bake. You might find yourself adding this to your list of go-to meals even after the fall once you try these bad boys.

5. Beef Tenderloin with Mushrooms

To get you into the cold season, try out some beef that’s pan-roasted. You might feel the need to practice your cooking ability a bit for this one, but the result will be scrumptious.

6. Pork and Biscuits

Even more foods that test fantastic fresh off the stove! These will be like pigs in a blanket only a hundred times richer. The addition of a soft and buttery biscuit to melt in your mouth as your teeth dig through that pork is enough to be drool-inducing. Make and bake these for breakfast, snacks, or those dinner nights where you’re too lazy to cook a different meal.

7. Cinnamon Pancakes

Breaking out the spices can be a process, but perfecting your pancake recipe is an absolute must. If you ever want to be great at whipping up breakfast foods, finding a solid pancake mix to add whatever you want, like cinnamon and other spices, is a challenge you’ll find yourself facing. I recommend Aunt Jemima’s and don’t be scared to add some nutmeg or butternut flavoring.

8. Tomato Soup

Simple, easy, bust out some canned tomato soup and add some veggies to the mix or just make it all from scratch if you’re looking for a project to keep it fresh. Celery, tomato chunks, mushrooms, and corn will be your best friend here. Add whatever meat you desire upon the conclusion of heating.

9. Grilled Tofu

Fall doesn’t have to just be about classic American and Thanksgiving foods, it can be fun just to try new things as long as they’re rich in flavor. You may laugh at the idea of tofu having flavor, but the first step in prepping tofu that doesn’t taste kinda like wet nothing is to marinate it in soy sauce, vinegar, or citrus juice. The oils will do nothing. Do your research before attempting to make some actually good tofu.

10. Wine-Marinated Pot Roast

Speaking of marination, the final dish that will not be on the chopping block is this yummy pot roast. You might have bad memories of pot roast, but it can indeed be prepared well enough to impress you and it all starts with being extra careful not to cook the meat too tough. Good luck with that one.
