I know what you might be thinking. You really want to get that juicy cheeseburger, but you don’t want al l the calories that come with it. However, at the same time, you don’t want a salad that tastes and looks like rabbit food. Well lucky, for you, I have the perfect solution. Here are some salad ideas that will curb your unhealthy food cravings, satisfy your tastebuds, and help you love your veggies!

1. Burger Salad

Craving that cheeseburger but don’t want all of the calories that come with it as I mentioned before? Now you can eat a salad, and “burger” at the same time! This salad recipe is light and refreshing, but it also has the protein that you need and crave. Grab some lettuce and create a bed of it on a big plate. Next, add some cucumber slices, onions, tomatoes, and sunflower seeds. Cook up a veggie burger, place it on top of your salad and also add half of an avocado. Drizzle some olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and enjoy! You can also add some low fat cheese if you want something a little more.

2. Taco Salad

Tacos are another fast food favorite that can contain tons of calories that you can easily avoid by eating this salad that tastes just as good but in a more refreshing way! Start off by making the vinaigrette for your salad by mixing together 1/4 cup of olive oil, 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar, zest of a whole lime, 2 tablespoons of lime juice, and 2 tsp of sugar. Next, cook up some of your favorite chorizo meat, and add that to a bowl alongside 5 cups of romaine lettuce, 1/2 cup of corn, 1 diced roma tomato, 2 tbsp of chopped cilantro, 1 avocado diced, 1/4 cup of shredded cheese, and 1/4 cup of tortilla strips. Toss in your lime vinaigrette, and dig in!

3. Harvest Cobb Salad

Although it isn’t fall anymore, this harvest cobb salad is so good, it’s most definitely acceptable to have it all year long! Once again, you want to make your dressing first! All you need to do is mix together 1/3 cup of mayonnaise, 1/4 cup of milk, 2 tbsp of sugar, 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar, and 1 tbsp of poppy seeds. For the salad, cook 4 slices of bacon, and boil 2 large eggs. To put the salad all together, add 6 cups of chopped romaine lettuce to a bowl with your eggs and bacon chopped, 1 diced apple, 1 diced pear, 1/2 cup of pecans, 1/3 cup of dried cranberries, and 1/3 cup of crumbled goat cheese or feta! 4. Southwestern Chopped Salad

This salad has a phenomenal dressing that will blow you away! Tex-mex style salads are the kinds of salads that will have you forgetting about junk food because of how delicious and addicting they are. For the dressing, mix together in a food processor 1 cup of cilantro leaves, 1/2 cup of plain greek yogurt, 2 garlic cloves, juice of 1 lime, pinch of salt, 1/4 cup of olive oil, and 2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar. For the salad, put together 5 cups of chopped romaine lettuce, 1/2 cup of halved cherry tomatoes, 1/2 cup of corn, 1/2 cup of black beans, 2 tbsp of cilantro leaves, 1 diced avocado, and 1/4 cup of tortilla strips. Mix in your dressing and enjoy your flavor-packed salad!

5. Kale and Quinoa Salad

Kale salads can sound pretty basic and overhyped but let me tell you, this salad will definitely not kale your vibe! This salad is also perfect for this summer because it’s so fresh, and has a sweet kick to it because of the berries! Just mix together 1 cup of cooked red quinoa, 8 chopped kale leaves, 1 tsp of coarse sea salt, juice of 1 lemon, 3/4 cup of chopped strawberries, 3/4 cup blackberries, 3/4 cup of raspberries, 1/2 cup of sliced grapes, 1/3 cup of dried blueberries, 1/4 cup of pistachios, 4 ounces of feta cheese, and drizzle some balsamic vinegar!
