9 Reasons You Should Travel In Your 20s

Keep reading for 9 reasons why you should travel in your 20’s!

1. You will make friends from all over the world.

By making friends from different countries, you’ll find the local spots to eat, drink, party, shop, and so much more! You’ll also have a place to stay if you decide to revisit that country again.

2. You can give your taste buds a tour around the world.

Trying different dishes from different countries introduces you to different flavors, textures and even portion sizes! Bonus: You’ll also learn different dining traditions to take home with you. Just remember your favorite dishes to cook when you’re back at home.

3. You have a faster metabolism before you hit 30.

Research shows metabolic rate decreases as we age. With all the eating you’ll be doing, you’ll most likely burn off all those calories if you walk often around these new countries.

4. You can add it to your resume.

Adding your abroad experience to your resume shows future employers what skills you’ve gained. It will also show your ability to plan and communicate effectively. Once you’ve traveled, you’ve become an international citizen.

5. You don’t have a career to commit to yet.

When you start your career you’ll only be able to take off for sick days and vacation, and vacation days can be limited. Take advantage of the opportunity to travel at your leisure while you can now!

6. You learn a lot about yourself before you settle down in a serious relationship.

Now is the time to learn about your likes and dislikes. You’ll discover your passions while developing a sense of creativity through writing, music, photography and other hobbies that come with traveling.
