But once you’re there you have no problem talking with people and making friends. You are good at socializing, but the thought of doing it is a little unsettling.

You make it a point to memorize details about people so you can ask them about it later. For example, instead of making petty small talk, you say something along the lines of, “hey, how did that psychology class end up going; I know you were struggling.”
Because you like small groups, you are good at connecting with people and making them feel important.
Instead of having a group of friends that you hang out with 24/7, you pull people from all kinds of social groups and hang out with them individually.
You enjoy socializing at times, but other times you love to be at home with a nice movie and a face mask. You value both situations.
Some people need to be around others at all times, but not you. You are content with the quiet and being alone.
