It’s ok if you don’t know exactly what you want to do in the future, no one expects you to! Don’t stress about it, especially during orientation.
No one likes being unprepared, so if you want to see what you need on the day of your orientation visit, visit here.
Orientation is a lot more fun when you participate! Trust me!
This is the time for you to start building new friendships with other students who will be going to school with you. Have fun and get to know people. Who knows, you might even find your best friend at orientation.
A majority of the time when you go to orientation other more experienced students will give you valuable advice on how to experience college. Listen to them. They’re giving you advice to make your transition from high school or from a different college a lot smoother.
When I was at orientation I got lost coming back from my enrollment session. Looking back I thought my campus was pretty big, now it seems kind of small to me but if this happens, which I’m sure it will (I still get lost in buildings and I’m a senior) just go with the flow and explore.
Do take advantage of other activities. At KSU we have a program called Wildcat Warm-up, which starts right after orientation. This is where the incoming students get the chance to learn what it really means to be a Wildcat. Unfortunately, I never got the chance to do this but from the stories I’ve heard those 3 days made students feel a lot closer to the university!
Be you. People will like you for who you are and if they don’t, they’re not the type of people you will want or need to be around, anyway.
I’m a firm believer that you’re attitude can have a great impact on your experience. This is supposed to be a fun time for you so go in with a positive attitude.
Have some fun and enjoy yourself! Everything’s going to be great!
