It always amazes me when people don’t take fashion majors seriously. I mean who do you think makes or sells the clothes that you are wearing now… Doctors? The world needs fashion majors whether you believe it or not. No matter what others say, at least as fashion majors we can stick together. There is nothing that drives me more insane than when people assume that because I’m not majoring in Bio-Chemistry or Mechanical Engineering, I have an easy major. Being a fashion major isn’t just looking at fashion magazines all day, we have tests and projects just like everyone else.
“Oh a fashion major? What job can you get with that?”
Although not all students who dress up for class are fashion majors, it’s safe to go ahead and assume that a majority of them are.
We’re college students too. Even fashion majors need their bum days.
They’ve known what they wanted to do with their major since freshman year, they’ve already snagged that awesome internship, and they’re more than likely have a job already set for after graduation. Yes we all know who that student is…and we envy them.
Sorry ladies…but for those looking for your future husband in college, you aren’t likely to find him in your fashion classes!
Your professor tells you that you have to create a theme board that showcases an up and coming fashion trend. Your heart flutters with excitement as all these ideas rush to your head. You go home and about 5 hours into the project you find yourself questioning every reason for choosing this major. Trust me, fashion friends: you will get through it and it will all turn out great!
