The phrase “You could’ve gone anywhere, but you chose Temple” is not as widely used as it once was, but it is still uttered sometimes. Sure, Temple is no Ivy League School. However, Temple boasts some pretty cool attendees and alumni! These celebrities graduated from Temple and you probably had no idea!
While John Oates is known for his work with bandmate Daryl Hall, he has a successful solo career as well. Oates and Hall met at Temple University when their bands were performing in a battle of the band’s show and they fled from a gunshot. Oates graduated from Temple with his Bachelor’s in Journalism.
Like Oates, he is known for Hall and Oates, but he also has solo music out. He grew up in Pottstown and studied music while at Temple. He and Oates continue to tour to this day, and together, they started the HoagieNation music festival in Philadelphia in 2017.
Kunal Nayyar is known for playing Raj on The Big Bang Theory. Though he received his Bachelor’s degree in finance at the University of Portland, he took acting lessons and became interested. He graduated with his Master of Fine Arts in Acting from Temple University.
Bob Saget is known for playing Danny Tanner on Full House. Saget studied at Temple’s film school. His black and white film, Through Adam’s Eyes, won a Student Academy Award. Saget received his Bachelor’s from Temple in 1978.
