Where To Find the Best Coffee in NYC

New York City coffee culture is the real deal, and we’re always searching for the best coffee that we can find in the city. With thousands of cafes and coffee shops to choose from, it can get overwhelming to find where the best coffee is. As a student living who has lived in Manhattan for over two years now, I’ve tried my fair share of coffee shops in search of the best cup. Here is a breakdown of where you can find the best coffee in New York City (according to a local):

1. MUD

Located in the trendy East Village of Manhattan, not only does MUD have amazing coffee, but it’s also a great spot to grab brunch at and maybe even spot some celebrities (Timothee Chalamet has been seen here on multiple occasions!). You’ll probably find the cafe filled with students grabbing a coffee on their way to class, studying, or meeting with friends. You can drink and dine inside or outside in a covered (and heated in the winter) beautiful garden space.

Choose MUD if you want to grab an amazing meal along with your morning cup of coffee!

2. La Colombe

It’s pretty rare to walk into La Colombe and not have a line of at least four people ahead of you, but I can assure you that’s not for no reason. La Colombe has some of the best coffee I’ve ever had and they have options for everyone. Whether you like to keep it simple with a drip coffee or like to spice your morning up with a draft latte, they have it all. They even have all of the different types of non-dairy milk (yes, including oat milk), catering to nearly anyone! It’s also a great place to go to get some studying or work done on your laptop as many of their cafes have a decent amount of seating.

La Colombe has a few different locations in Manhattan, so find which is closest to you and head over for some of the best coffee in New York City!

3. Happy Bones

Happy Bones is a tiny coffee shop in the heart of Nolita that serves some of Manhattan’s best coffee. Their super aesthetic look and amazing coffee keep their business busy all the time with people coming in and out all day long. It also doesn’t hurt that everything inside (including your coffee) is super Instagrammable. The shop is also right off of the iconic Mulberry Street of Little Italy, so go grab your coffee and take a stroll down the always-bustling streets!

4. Bluestone Lane

Have you ever wondered what the cutest Aussie cafe in New York City looked like? Well, look no further. Bluestone Lane is not only a super cute cafe, but they also have some of the best coffee in the city. Australians are known for their amazing coffee and ‘breaky,’ and this cafe recreates the Aussie brunch experience perfectly. They have a few locations all around the city making this a great and convenient option no matter where you’re staying! Whether you prefer a chai latte or a classic Aussie flat white, their drinks and food are to die for.

Who knew a trip to Australia would only cost as much as your morning cup?
