What Moisturiser You Should Get Based On Your Skin Type

Skincare is really trending right now, but it is important not to neglect the skin on your body. Of course, your face is the first thing people see so you should always pay attention to it and give some it love and care too, but you must also look after the skin on your body as well. Not only will help in the up coming colder months it will make you feel a lot more confident in your body. Super soft skin will always mean a super confident you! It may be getting colder outside but that shouldn’t stop you showing off your gorgeously glowing and soft skin. Put on that mini dress and flaunt it, girl!

Dry Skin

Having dry skin on your body can be combated fairly easily with a little bit of love and care. Getting the right moisturiser for you however, can be a bit more of a task. The thing with dry skin is that there are so many moisturisers out there but there will be one specific one that will work best for you. The better ones for dry skin are those that are shea butter based. Olive and coconut bases are also very good for dry skin. The nut butters and oils released will help to smooth your skin and hydrate it while nourishing the skin. Try putting thick creams onto clean skin overnight for best results as it will absorb slower and benefit your skin more.

The best moisturiser for dry skin is from The Body Shop. If you haven’t heard of The Body Shop’s body butters, where have you been? Their founder Anita Roddick created the first ever mango body butter in her kitchen – therefore it is made out of natural ingredients and all have shea butter bases. The most amazing smelling body butter in our opinion has to be the coconut one. Why would you not want to smell like a tropical island holiday 24/7? It is so enriching and great at being thick but also absorbent. Next time you pop into a store, make sure you take a wiff of the body butters they have to offer! Also, many of their products are vegan! What more could you ask for?

Red, Itchy Or Irritated

Red, itchy and irritated skin all falls under the same category: inflamed. What your skin needs is something to sooth it. The best ingredients for this are hemp, aloe vera and natural yogurt. Your skin getting red and irritated is your skins cry for help. Stress, sunburn and the cold are all things which will irritate your skin and can cause it to become red and sore. Treating this with a soothing body lotion will ease your skin and also put your mind at rest when it comes to your skin. You will also feel yourself getting more confident, wearing clothes that you shoved to the back of your wardrobe and, constantly admiring your silky smooth skin.

Hempz original moisturiser is a light textured moisturiser infused with 100% pure, natural hemp seed oil. It is vegan and paraben free and also comes in a range of smells (but if your skin is that irritated it is best to avoid putting perfumes on your skin as it may make it worse). Hemp seed oil is great for providing amazing skin hydration while the ginseng helps calm the skin. It also comes in a body wash and exfoliator if you want the whole range!

Acne Prone

Acne prone skin can bring your confidence down and will more than likely just get worse during the coming winter months. The trick is with acne prone skin is to sooth it but also get rid of the spots and redness too. It is hard to find a product which will do both of those things. Simply using aloe vera may not combat the spots and using teatree oil will probably dry your skin out and using teatree too often will irritate your skin.

Sensitive

Sensitive skin plus aloe vera is a match made in heaven. However, it is quite hard to find a moisturiser which contains a good amount of aloe to sooth your skin. If you do not like the feeling of pure aloe vera gel on your skin, try a thicker moisturiser which contains it. It is important to remember that you also should avoid perfumes and alcohol on your skin as it will cause your sensitivity to flare up and will result in irritation. Always read the label before you buy and ask if you can try or take a sample away to patch test before you drench your skin in a product you have never used before.

It is also great if you are younger and want to start experimenting with moisturising your skin. It contains shea butter to help nourish and give your skin a soft touch, it also contains vitamin E to help restore skin (also great for stretch marks). If your skin is still really sensitive and has not reacted well to the product, discontinue use and move on to trying something else.
