5 Ways To Wear Overalls During The Summer

I’ll admit, I was not a huge fan of overalls when they came back in style. The first time I saw anyone wearing them, I silently wondered why. Out of all things that could come back in style, why these? I figured I could at least give them a shot, after everything else I’ve been able to give a chance to. I then bought a pair of my own, and my mind completely changed. Overalls aren’t just for the countryside and barn dances anymore–they’re actually stylish! They have made a comeback in the past few years, and there’s SO many cute ways to style them that fit your personality and style.

With summer right around the corner, it’s a perfect time to get a pair if you were ever contemplating. Here are 5 cute ways to wear overalls that will turn heads wherever you go this summer.

Casual–with a plain t-shirt and sneakers

Casual is definitely the most common way to wear overalls, and what you see the most. It’s also the easiest way to wear them, because you can mix and match so many tops and shoes. I think the best and most versatile way for these to be worn is with a simple t-shirt (plain, striped, etc.), and a pair of Converse or fun sneakers. Perfect for Target runs, shopping, or coffee with a friend.

Brunch–nicer top and cute sandals

For another way to go out on a limb with overalls, try wearing a pair of them to your next brunch. It has a similar take on the casual outfit, but a little more dressy. You can wear a blouse, an off the shoulder top–essentially any top you would wear with jeans to a brunch, just with overalls! It gives the outfit a fun twist, and still is acceptable for brunch. Pair it with some cute sandals and your ready to brunch all day! Perfect for brunch, or a fun day with some gal pals!

Dinner–heels or boots and fun earrings

I wouldn’t say it’s 5-star restaurant approved, but it still works for a nice dinner or date night! Pair the overalls with a nicer shirt, some cute heels or fun earrings. It’s a put-together look while still being cool and different. You could even try silkier or cloth overalls for this look–not only are they a little bit nicer than denim, but they give off more of a jumpsuit vibe. Perfect for not only dinner, but graduation parties or a friends birthday!

Work–mules and a shirt

It won’t work for every job, but depending on the attire, it could definitely work! These types of overalls would probably be cloth or more of a silkier material (just like the dinner look). Pair with a collared shirt and mules, and you’re work ready. For all you know, you might be the first to start a fashion trend in the workplace. This look also works for traveling or being a tourist around a new city!

In my opinion, overalls are one of the most interesting, but also best trends to come back in style (just in time for the summer)–if you don’t believe me, buy a pair (or even two) for yourself and see!
