7 Ways To Rock A Blazer This Season

I’ll admit that despite my feeble attempts to wake up by the first ring of my alarm and get out the door cat-walk ready before my first class, mornings don’t always agree with me. And although it is a staple (not to mention a favorite) in my closet, my sleek black blazer is never the first thing I grab when I need to rush out the door. Sometimes throwing a blazer on is as easy as throwing on any regular jacket, but other times I am appalled by my blazer’s ability to turn me into a 30-something-year-old businesswoman (or something of the like). But you don’t have to rack your brain for ways to avoid this catastrophe, and looking classy and sophisticated or casual cool doesn’t have to be a chore. A few extra minutes and an eye for style is all you need to bring out the best in every blazer, whether you’re headed out on the town or looking to be cozy for your 7:30 AM!

1. Comfy and casual for class

When you’re heading off to class, keep your blazer look casual with jeans, a striped t-shirt, and gym shoes. Looking put together doesn’t have to be a hassle. Keep this look simple and comfortable while still looking like you tried — even on a Monday morning!

3. Girl’s Night Out

I’ll be the first to admit that the majority of my Friday nights are spent lying in my dorm and binge watching bad reality TV. But on the off chance that I do go out, I make sure that I look good. When it’s girls night out, keep your outfit sleek and sexy by pairing a bright blazer with black on black and printed pumps.

4. Date night

While my go-to on date night is my favorite sundress, the winter weather cuts down my sundress choices from slim to none. When it’s colder out, dress down a rich colored blazer with a dainty dress, heeled booties, and tights.

Whether I am proposing a call to action in English class or simply presenting a whiteboard drawn diagram in Philosophy, I make sure that I always look my best during presentations. If you look your best, you’ll feel your best and ultimately do your best! Dress up a casual black dress and nude flats with an abstract printed blazer.

7. The Perfect Cozy Everyday Outfit

While a blazer may not be the first piece of your closet that pops into your mind when you think of a cozy everyday outfit, dressing down and snuggling up in a blazer is easier than you think. Pair an oversized black blazer with a comfortable gray sweater dress, thick plaid scarf, and leggings. Dress it up with booties, or dress it down with flats, either way, this look is perfect for a day of Christmas shopping or a cram sesh in the library.
