Study Tips: 8 Ways To Plan The Ultimate Study Session

Mastering the art of studying seems to be a sought after commodity that all college students can relate too. Studying, although quite literally a learning process, is a process that needs to be learned. Procrastinating and distractions can hinder an Ultimate Study session from being optimal for retaining information so are here ways to plan the ultimate study session.

1. Quiet Space

To have the ultimate study session your space and environment are one of the most important key factors. Having a space that in comfortable, and quiet will serve as a way from being distracted by unnecessary noise like a TV or your roommate gabbing nearby. If you have your own room, and work best in you room, be sure to clear your desk, bed and floor of clutter, especially when you plan on spreading your books, notes and flashcards about. keep your room as an off-limit zone for you study session. If you share a dorm room with a dorm mate, consider going to the library and using a study room or study cubicle. 

2. Quiet Background Music

While a quiet space is optimum, for some of us, if it is too quiet that can be a distraction in itself. With that much notable silence and the droning of doing an activity that is less than thrilling, our minds can wander from obtaining information from a study session. Whether it is our minds grow tired or bored from lackluster activities, the silence can serve as the distraction. Having some mellow ambient instrumental, or piano ballads can helps fill your empty surrounding without being imposing. You can have the ultimate study session by keeping your mind anchored to low melodies while also not being distracted by them.

3. Log Out of Social Media

While it’s impossible to study without the use of laptops, smartphones or tablets, it makes it incessantly difficult that our apps of leisure are just a few swipes and taps away. The urge to check your Twitter feed, Instagram stories or your Snapchat messages can be all to daunting. A way to make checking social media a bit of task during your ultimate study session is to log out of all you platforms. That way opening your apps doesn’t bring instant satisfaction or instant distraction. This way you give yourself just enough time to reevaluate if you should be really checking your social media.

4. Snacks

Subconsciously we allow ourselves to procrastinate by justifying that procrastination with things that seem reasonable but are essential excuses to distract ourselves from working. Sometimes cravings can distract us and hinder our focus onto our studying so make sure to grab yourself some satisfying snacks to nibble on. Make sure you prepare somethings light that won’t sit heavy in your stomach. Preferably something that can help keep your energy up. Make sure to get all your needed snacks ahead of time so you’re not running back and forth to the kitchen. Manage your time wisely by having your snacks already prepared. Some messy free, and healthy snacks to choose from are pretzels, mixed nuts, popcorn, dark chocolate, and fruit, just to name a few.

5. Notes and Textbooks

What is an ultimate study session without your actual notes and textbooks? Those are the one things you can’t leave out. To lessen any worries or stress that you lack all the necessary tools to help you, Be sure to keep notes organize. Make use of highlighters and even colored pens and pencils to create a system. It’ll make standout points easier to find an it’ll be a way for your brain o easily retain the information by being able to quickly retrieve information
