5 Ways To Make Hummus That Are Both Fun And Delicious

As we all know, hummus is the food of the gods. Not only is it cheap to make, but it is fun, delicious, and probably the reason that anyone ever gets out of bed in the morning. Here, we have 5 delightfully scrumptious ways to make hummus that you’re sure to love!

Many of our hummus recipes use tahini, but sometimes tahini can be difficult to find in grocery stores. If you have a hard time finding tahini (or it’s just too expensive), never fear! You can always substitute it for creamy almond or peanut butter. But if you want to still add that delicious taste, just toss some roasted sesame seeds (you can find them at your local bulk food store) in your food processor and blend until they form a smooth paste. Voila! Cheap and easy tahini!

1. Roasted Red Pepper Hummus

Cut your red bell peppers in half and lay them on a baking tray. Bake at 400 F for 20-25 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool. Once they are cool enough to touch, peel them and toss them in your food processor or blender.

Add the chickpeas, garlic clove, tahini, lemon juice, paprika, salt and pepper, and olive oil to the food processor or blender. Blend the ingredients at a high speed until smooth, adding the water to help with the consistency.
