20 Ways To Love Yourself This Summer Without Being In A Relationship

Summer is just around the corner, and it’s going to be a great one! With people beginning to get the COVID-19 vaccines, hopefully things can be a bit more normal this summer. It can be easy to get wrapped up in wanting a significant other to do fun things with in the warm weather, but it is important to remember how crucial it is to spend the summer learning to love yourself and focusing on creating a better version of you for the next school year! Here are twenty ways to love yourself this summer without being in a relationship.

1. Journaling

Journaling is a great way to remind yourself of all of the great things about you. Buy a cute journal at Target or Barnes and Noble and spend at least ten minutes every day writing about everything you are thankful for, stressed out about, literally anything. Trust me, it helps with your mental health.

2. Reading

No matter what genre you like, reading is an awesome way to let your mind escape from reality for a little bit! I love crime novels, so grab your favorite book and escape into a whole other world!

3. Hiking

Hiking is such a fun way to love yourself, as you can just look at the beauty of nature and boost some serotonin while working a sweat! Alone or with a friend, it is so much fun.

4. Running

Running is another great way to love yourself, or even walking! Just exercising in general, putting your phone down and observing your surroundings is super important in loving who you are and where you are in the world.

5. Painting

Painting is so relaxing and it makes me love myself so much because I am taking the time to create something beautiful. It helps me let out all of my emotions on a canvas with whatever colors fit my mood.

6. Friendship Dates

Who needs dates with a significant other when your friends are there to help you love yourself? Plan some friend dates this summer, girls nights full of good times and great food!

7. Traveling

Traveling is the best way to remind yourself of how much is still out there to discover in this huge world. Love yourself a little more this summer and hop on a plane (as long as you are COVID-19 free!)

8. Working

Not many people want to work in the summer, but it is so worth it when you get paid! The more you work, the more money you will have for the upcoming semester at college. Love yourself and grind away!

9. Treating Yourself

It is always important to treat yourself with some bubble baths and face masks. What better way can you love yourself other than some TLC?

10. Cooking

I absolutely love cooking. It is a great way to love yourself and others if you cook a great big meal that is oh-so-delicious!

11. Spend More Time With Your Family

Family time is something that can easily slip away as you get older. It’s important to have lots of family time because without family, you wouldn’t be the person you are today! Whether it is basic chill time or a family trip, love yourself and your family a little bit more and share some memories with the fam this summer.

12. Online Classes

Summer is obviously a time for relaxing, but if you really are motivated and want to stay ahead of the game you can enroll in some summer online classes to enhance your college degree! Online classes will really make you love yourself and appreciate yourself once you have a little more free time in the semester!

13. Internships

Remote or in person, internships are a great way to get a kick-start on your career this summer or just simply to explore your interests surrounding your major! Because of COVID-19, a lot of internships are remote now but that doesn’t make them any less amazing of an experience. They are a great opportunity to remind yourself of your worth and love yourself just a little bit more.

14. Baking

Baking is such a fun way to love yourself because you can get so creative in the kitchen with sweet indulgences, and you can devour them right afterwards! My favorite summer treat is cream cheese brownies or chocolate covered strawberries.

Beach days are a great way to spend your summer hot days. Grab your friends, a speaker and a cooler of your favorite snacks and drinks and hit the beach for the day! Don’t forget your sunscreen either.

17. Road Trips

Road trips with the besties are such a fun thing to do in the summer, because it is one of the only times when we really have the chance! So pick a place you have never been and get driving to your favorite music!

18. Catch Up On Your TV Shows

Summer is an awesome time to catch up on your favorite shows and sit back and relax. I always look forward to catching up on long lost shows I forgot about!

19. Meet New People

Making new friends is such an important part of life, and traveling in the summer can introduce you to a ton of new people that could change your life! So go into new opportunities with open arms and an open heart, who knows who you will meet?!
