10 Unique Foods You Can Only Get At Union County College

Every campus has its own culinary cuisine, food that you get ala courtesy of the cafeteria store. What makes the food choices at Union County College so special is not what they are, but what’s added to them that make them so special. We love our sauces here. My classmates and I couldn’t get enough. Here’s the list of our top 10 popular eats at UCC.

1. Bourbon BBQ Chicken

This is so popular at Union County College because it tastes like authentic Hibachi Japanese grilled from your local buffet. Tender and flavorful, it’s gooey stickiness adds to the flavor.

2. Smoke House Angus Burger

Served with BBQ mayo and smoked Gouda cheese, this burger melts in your mouth. The sizable portion makes it almost difficult to stay awake in class.

3. Tilapia Francaise

The sauce is light over the baked Tilapia that is seasoned just right. The Union County College way to serve this up, however, is to add mayo to the sauce. Sounds gross, but doesn’t disappoint in flavor.

4. Beef Gyro

The soft, warm pita wrap and seasoned beef with signature tzatziki sauce is good just the way it is. Some of us add French fries to the wrap for extra flavor.

5. Fried chicken

The batter is what makes this chicken tasty and popular. Crispy, crunchy and juicy is the best way to describe it. Dousing it with French dressing adds a nice kick.

6. Loaded fries with spicy cheese

Our loaded fries is just French fries with melted cheese / hot sauce mix.

7. Turkey Sloppy Joe

This is a student favorite of those who don’t like beef. Adding sriracha sauce or splashes is ketchup, transforms the taste into a meatloaf-like flavor.

8. Chicken Fingers

With a pepper based batter, these provide the right amount of bite for a student’s pockets. We dip them in every sauce imaginable. Mine is  the buttermilk ranch.

9. Banging Rings

A personal favorite. The onion rings here are the perfect combination of greasiness, spice and crunch with a thick batter. They’re large too, super filling and taste great on top of our burgers.

10. Crispy Chicken Caesar Salad Wrap

Grilled or crispy, this tender chicken is made-to-order with lettuce, cheese and tomatoes. Students dip this in mustard and mayo to make a sauce that is tangy.

At Union County College, we know how to spice up our menus. Our chefs give us the best fried, soggy gooey brain food we all need after a semester of quizzes and exams.
