Concerts are incredibly fun. Concert venues can make or break your experience. Whether the concert venues are too small or have poor acoustics can ruin your night. There are incredible concert venues that you can’t miss. Here is a list of concert venues that are unique in the U.S. that are arguably an experience with themselves. You’ll look back and wonder whether or not you fell in love with the artist or the venue!

1. The Caverns in Pelham, TN

Described as a “subterranean amphitheater” this venue is quite literally in a cave. Nestled at the base of Monteagle Mountain in Tennessee The Caverns is a place like no other. Here you can experience bluegrass, country and rock concerts in a place built by mother nature, with the help of humans of course. If you’re afraid caves though this isn’t the place for you.

2. Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, CO

West of Denver is this impressive venue. Red Rocks Amphitheater is over 100-years old and has boasted an abundance of popular artists from all genres. This isn’t just a great experience for an audience it’s also considered a highlight for someone’s career to be able to play here. This the destination if you want to be surrounded by nature while experiencing great music.

 

3. The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, TN

Probably the smallest venue on the list is the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, TN. Although it was popularized through the show Nashville anyone and everyone in country music know this place can launch careers. This venue is a beautifully intimate setting for singer-songwriters to get close to their fans. There is typically a show every night too, be sure to check this one out because you never know who may stop by.

4. The Pavilion at Ravinia in Chicago, IL

The Pavilion at Ravinia is a venue in a wooded area in the middle of Chicago. It’s famous for holding the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for their annual summer residency. Although this venue has mainly classical concerts there have been popular artists that have played here.

5. Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, NY

This venue is quite literally on the water. In Wantagh, NY the Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater. At this venue, you get the best of both worlds: the ocean and an amazing concert experience!

6. Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA

The Hollywood Bowl is infamous for its design, the architecture making it look like a shell or bowl. Countless popular artists have played there during it’s near century-long run. The Hollywood Bowl is one of the oldest venues on this list.

7. Greek Theatre in Berkeley, CA

What makes the Greek Theatre in Berkeley unique is that it pays homage to literal Greece. The backdrop has columns and it appears as though you’re at the Parthenon.

8. Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, WI

This seasonal venue was once the largest amphitheater in the US. Opening in the late 70s it has a sprawling lawn where concert-goers can sit and enjoy an outdoor concert experience. This is famous for being where larger acts stop frequently despite it being sort of out of the way.

9. The Mishawaka in Bellvue, CO

North West of Fort Collins, Colo this venue sits above the Purdue River. It is a smaller venue, designed like a log cabin with the stage being outside overlooking the river. Inside you can eat and enjoy the bar. Outside you can watch a concert while the lights dance on the darkly lit waters below. It can be a windy trip up there and there isn’t any cell service so make sure you know important numbers before heading to Mishawaka.

10. SteelStacks in Bethlehem, PA

Last but certainly not least is the SteelStacks in Bethlehem. This venue is a steampunk fan’s dream. It has elaborate warehouse buildings because it was once a steel plant that functioned for an impressive 120-years. Now it has become a famed venue where locals and visitors alike can experience music while viewing the history of the town.
