Autumn is so close and even though we love to travel, it’s not so easy in autumn because we don’t have a long holiday and it’s when most near by countrys get cold. So instead of travelling to another country you can just take a long weekend trip to a city or place in the UK which is just as beautiful in autumn. These are the best places to go in the UK for autumn!
London may seem a little bit basic but it’s even better in autumn/winter than any other time. You should go on the London Eye just before sunset so you can see the whole thing, and if you time it just right you might be at the top to see the sun give the whole city a golden glow. You can also wrap up in scarfs and walk down the streets of central London stopping at cafes and the landmarks like Piccadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square. London is one of the most beautiful places to visit in the UK during autumn.
2. Lake District
The Lake District in general is an amazing place to visit all year around but it’s just that much more special during autumn when you’re surrounded by falling leaves and beautiful nature. This is for people who love the great outdoors or for people who want to escape their busy city lives just for a while. Spend afternoons hiking and evenings in rustic tearooms, visit the Sunday market or hire a rowing boat.

Why not head to the valley’s and rent a cosy cottage where you can take a day or two to relax from your everyday life. Edinburgh is another beautiful city during the autumn and worth the visit when you want to travel but don’t want to leave the country. Not only is it an amazing city but it’s also surrounded by countryside which makes it a perfect place for people who love both. Take a walk through the streets, spend your time in cosy cafes or go to the countryside for a breath of fresh air.
Cornwall is a beautiful place to spend a weekend this autumn which is great for all types of people. You can do everything from surfing to tin mining, have fresh seafood to coffee in cute cafes, climb a cliff to kayak on a river. This is a jewel you have to visit at least once this autumn.
Not a lot of people consider Dublin a travel destination but it’s a great place to go in autumn for a weekend. You can go for a hike around the city’s beautiful countryside or visit the stunning Trinity College and The Books Of Kells or St Stephen’s Green which is a beautiful park in the heart of the city perfect for reading a book, having a coffee or going for a walk.
There are some amazing things you can do in York during autumn, for example visit the largest gothic cathedral in northern Europe The York Minister (make sure to take your camera), take a boat trip along the river Ouse and see the York Museum Gardens. This city is perfect for all types of people who want a great weekend this autumn.
