10 Recipes That Will Stimulate Your Metabolism

Taking care of your body is essential in order to fully enjoy the party season. Strengthen your immune system and stimulate your metabolism in order to stay healthy and lose that useless couple of grams that you gained over the winter. Juicing and stocking on vegetables and fruits is the ideal way to just keep it fresh and healthy when it’s hot and sunny outside. Here are 10 recipes that will help you stimulate your metabolism.

1. Golden latte

Try this warm and comforting alternative drink. The name sounds appealing as it reminds you perhaps of your favourite coffee. Curcuma is known to have antioxidants properties notably in Chinese and Indian medicine.

Method:

Use 1 full glass of vegetal milk (coconut or almond- whichever you like best). Add to it 1 tablespoon of cinnamon, 1 teaspoon of honey, 1 teaspoon of coconut oil (organic if you can), 1 teaspoon of Curcuma powder, 1 piece of fresh ginger, and a little bit of black pepper.

Put all the ingredients in a recipient and cook the mixture for 10 min after boiling. Extract the milk so that you don’t have any bits of ginger or Curcuma – if you have used fresh ingredients. Add some honey on top.

2. Slimming drink

This drink is very easy to prepare and makes wonders in terms of losing weight. It lessens your sugary cravings and helps you to stay fit. Needless to say, you can take it with you anywhere and drink it at any time of the day.

Method:

In a big recipient, just put all the following ingredients and let them be for 24h in spring water: pineapple, lemon, orange, rosemary leaves, fresh nettle, 1 stick of liquorice.

Drink it fresh!

3.  Summer salad

When it’s hot outside, you don’t want to spend your time in the kitchen cooking for hours and hours. Prepare a summer salad: fresh and healthy, full of vitamins, you will enjoy eating it at work or at home.

Method:

Cut into pieces 2 apricots, 1 white peach and half of an apple.  Dispose on a plate 30 gr of goat cheese and 2 handfuls of roquette salad.

Prepare the vinaigrette: Mix all together 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 1 tablespoon of balsamic cream, 2 rounds of pepper, 1 pinch of salt, 1 pinch of cinnamon and 1 pinch of ginger.

Place it on a plate just as you like. Add some nuts.

4. Carrot detox smoothie

Try this drink high in sugar and vitamins. It will suit the most fragile of intestines as it does not contain a lot of fiber. This drink will accompany you perfectly through summer time and will provide you with the antioxidants you need.

Method:

You will need: 3 carrots, 1 beet, 1 apple and 1 piece of ginger.

Peel the beet but not the rest of the vegetables. Extract the juice thanks to a machine.

5. Honey, ginger & grapefruit jelly

This jelly is delicious and will accompany perfectly your cup of tea. Or your grilled toasts during breakfast.

Method: 

You will need 1 kg of grapefruit (4), some grapefruit zest, 250 gr of chestnut honey, 350 gr of sugar, 15 gr of fresh ginger.

In a recipient cook some zests from your grapefruits in boiling water for 5 mins. Peel completely the grapefruits. Cut into very small pieces the fresh ginger.

In a different recipient, cook the honey and the sugar. When it boils, do not mix and wait for a couple of minutes.

Add the bits of peeled grapefruits, the ginger and the zests.

Let it candy until the mixture becomes thick.

6. Pineapple/ Ginger detox smoothie

Try this detox smoothie that will purify your system, and strengthen your metabolism. The anti-inflammatory virtues of ginger are well known and will help you stay fit anytime – Summer like winter.

Method:

Just take 600gr peeled and ready to eat pieces of pineapple, 2 peeled lemons, 2 apples, 10 gr of ginger, and blend everything together until you get a smooth result. Extra tip: add some maple syrup to add some natural sugar.

7. Greek yogurt delight

This is a very nice dessert- type of snack. Greek Yogurt will help you prevent any cravings and keep you full for longer. Filled with Calcium and really good for your digestive system, you will fall in love with this recipe – easy to make and oh so delicious.

Method: 

Mix 250gr of Greek Yogurt with1 tablespoon of vanilla extract and 20 grow sugar. Add to the yogurt, 2 battered egg whites. Mix. Cut four kiwis into round pieces.

In small glasses, alternate layers of yogurt and kiwis. Continue until the glass is full.  You can add any other topping if you wish like raspberries for instance.

8. Chamomile and honey tea

This drink is a well-known remedy against colds. You can drink the iced version of it during the hottest days of summer. It will taste like lemonade.

9. Cucumber and mint water

Enjoy this detox water! Simply cut small pieces of cucumber, add mints to spring water. You can drink an iced version by adding some ice cubes.

10. Protein smoothie

Drink this smoothie instead of a snack and feel full the whole day through. Full of vitamins and antioxidants, this drink is really healthy. The chia seeds bring a lot of enzymes that support your immune system.

Method:

Leave 10 almonds in water overnight.

Blend together 3 bananas, 1 tablespoon of chia seeds, 4 dates, 1 glass of water and some honey if you like. Add the almonds as well.
