The Guide To Achieving Meghan Markle’s Everyday Makeup

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard of Meghan Markle. First, she stole everyone’s hearts on screen as Rachel Zane on Suits, then went ahead and stole Prince Harry’s heart. Actress-turned-royal Meghan Markle has long been a fashion and beauty icon, but one of the things that sets her apart from most high-profile figures is her fresh, natural take on everyday makeup. If you want to take a chance at looking like Meghan, follow this step-by-step guide to achieving Meghan Markle’s everyday makeup look. Most of these products are the ones that Meghan actually uses!

1. Start with a sheer, natural base

The key to achieving Meghan’s fresh yet polished look is by going for a very sheer, natural-looking base. Meghan has always been a fan of natural makeup and loves showing off her freckles. To achieve the same look, go for a sheer tinted moisturiser with an illuminating finish. Meghan herself has been quoted as being a fan of the Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser.

2. Groom and fill in your brows

What you’ll notice about Meghan Markle’s everyday makeup look is that although she doesn’t wear a lot of face makeup, her face always looks well-framed. This is thanks to her full, thick set of brows. Achieve the same look by filling in your brows with a soft pencil then brushing them up to slightly feather out the hairs and achieve a more natural look. In order to not look too jarring, choose a shade the colour of your roots or one shade lighter than your natural hair colour.

3. Add drama with a soft smokey eye

Meghan’s everyday look always consists of a strong eye and a nude lip. Achieve the same look by first lining your lash line and waterline with a soft kohl pencil, then blurring and softening the edges. Meghan is often seen wearing black or dark brown, but go with something that is just a little bit darker than your natural hair colour. Next, make sure to curl your lashes so that you can have the same wide-eyed fluttery effect as Meghan’s lashes. Top it off with tons of volumising mascara and you’ll have the perfect soft smokey eye a la Meghan Markle.

4. Add a natural, peachy flush

Meghan doesn’t seem to fuss around with contour and highlighting for her everyday makeup look, but a definite staple in her everyday beauty routine is a warm, peachy-pink flush on her cheeks. You’ll never catch Meghan without a tiny amount of colour on her cheeks, but she never overdoes it. Go for a peach shade close to your natural blush colour and swipe it from the apples of your cheeks up towards your temples to achieve Meghan’s same warm glow.

5. Finish off with a nude lip

Meghan’s everyday makeup look is all about balance. Because she already focuses attention on her eyes, she keeps the rest of her face simple. Pair your smokey eye with a soft pink nude lip. Meghan is often seen rocking a velvet-to-matte finish, but if you’re more comfortable with a soft sheer finish, that will also work for this look. The key is to find a colour that ties in nicely with your natural lip colour and the shade of your blush.
