During winter and autumn it is kind of a sure thing that you will have a run in with a cold or some kind of sickness. No one likes being sick, unless you are in high school and you can get a day off school. If you feel a cold coming on and you need to get rid of it fast before it gets worse, try out these few tips and tricks to kick that cold now!
Drink water, and lots of it. Water will help to keep your body hydrated and will flush the toxins out of your body. Water is a magic cure-all when you are sick. Drinking water, especially when you are sick can be a challenge, try your hardest to be consistent with the water consumption in order to flush your system and keep hydrated. You will be on your way to perfect health in no time. Just keep the water coming!
Sleep is a time for your body to rest and recover, this is absolutely necessary in order for you to kick your cold fast. If you are run down you won’t recover. Have some night time cold medicine if your sickness is keeping you up. Have a great nights sleep and you will hopefully wake up feeling a lot better! Just a few nights of restful nights sleep and you will be back to normal in no time! Sleep is necessary and it should be your main goal to kick your lingering cold.
Now vitamin c can come in many different forms so there is sure to be something that suits you. Fruit and veg are important day to day to get your vitamins and minerals in for the day. The most important fruit to eat though is anything with high amounts of vitamin c. Oranges, mandarins, grapefruits, citrus fruits are your best friend to get your health back to wear it was. If citrus fruit is not your thing you can always take some vitamin c supplements. Quick, easy and you will be feeling better really quickly. This is a great way to stop a cold before it gets worse.
Whether you are cold or not, wear layers! Make sure you keep all of your vital organs and your chest warm. It doesn’t matter if you are super cold or not, just rug up! You need to keep your body away from the elements so it can work its wonders on healing your body, and not spend its energy keeping your body warm. This is the classic, but very vital need to stop your cold before it gets worse.
Nutrient Dense Food
Make sure you are eating healthy and nutrient dense food. Don’t just have instant noodles and pizza every day. Have all your food groups, particularly fruit, veg, carbs and meat, in order to give your body enough fuel to recover and heal itself. This may be harder for some than others but try your hardest to live your most healthy life.
Wash your hands
Whether you are sick or not, wash your hands. This is needed in order to stop the germs spreading. When you leave the house and come back, or go to the bathroom and everything else in between. Wash your hands. Simple as that.
Sweat It Out
One thing that I love to do when I am not feeling too great, is to sweat out the toxins. This can be done in a number of different ways. Go to the gym, if you don’t have the energy for that, take a hot bath or spa, just make sure you have a water bottle with you to stay hydrated so you don’t get a headache. You will feel like all the germs are out of your system by the next morning!
