Keeping yourself mentally and physically healthy in college is no easy feat. With a serious lack of time to do anything other than school work for activities like sports or working out, and an ever growing work load, living away from home and the general stresses of growing up and having to face the realities of adult life, can put a lot of strain on your mental health. However, maintain your health in college, both physical and mental, is imperative for you to get the most out of your college experience. So, to help all you college students out, here are 7 apps to balance your health in college.

1. My Fitness Pal

My Fitness Pal is a great was for any college student to keep up with their physical heath in college. You may think that the phrase “freshman 15” is a myth, but sadly it’s not. Due to living on your own or with friends for the first time, having to cook for yourself, and being able to choose how many takeaways you have in a week, many freshers will gain weight. But, My Fitness Pal is a great way to keep track of exactly what you’re eating, including the calories and amount of fat, salt and sugar, for example, go into what you’re eating. It’s also the perfect way to keep track of hoe much exercise you’re getting, no matter hoe much or how little.

2. Headspace

Headspace is an app that helps with meditation and is a great way to maintain a good level of positive mental health in college or to help you out when you’re feeling stressed. The app has different meditation sessions, lasting for different lengths of time, for example, short 10 minute sessions, or longer hour sessions. If you’re someone who enjoys meditation or are curious about ways to de-stress and help your mental health in college, then this is the perfect app for you.

Pacer is a good way to actively keep track of your physical health in college. Not only does it keep track of the amount of steps you do in a day, but it also has fun challenges you can do to make working out more interesting, offers support from the whole Pacer community and offers you a specific personalised fitness plan, so that you can maintain your physical health in college by schedule that suits you.

A great app for college students to use to help with their mental health in college is What’s up?. It utilises different therapy methods to assist in helping to cope with issues such as depression, anxiety and stress with methods that are easy for everyone to follow.
