10 Trends From The 90s We’re Loving Right Now

Ahh, the 90s. The decade that blessed us with some of the most iconic fashion looks. From Cher’s yellow plaid outfit in Clueless to basically every look in Friends. Of course, 90s fashion had some trends we’d rather forget, like those awful chunky hair highlights! But for the most part, 90s fashion is timeless, which is why 90s fashion is having a comeback moment. People can’t get enough of 90s nostalgia right now. If you love the 90s as much as we do, read on to discover the latest trends inspired by 90s fashion.

1. Dress like a 90s dad with this updated socks in sandals trend

Socks in sandals has always been a faux pas, but we love a little controversy. This super sweet look is the perfect way to blend the awkward 90s fashion with the modern day.

2.  Embrace the 90s love for color with this rainbow striped sweater

90s fashion was all about mixing bright colors and patterns. No one was afraid to literally embrace the rainbow with their fashion choices. We love this sweater because it is bold and bright–basically everything the 90s symbolizes.

3. Be a literal rainbow with these thigh high socks

These rainbow socks are the happiest accessory you can add to your closet, but they’re not for the faint-hearted. If you wear these, you are guaranteed attention. It takes a brave soul to wear these, but that’s exactly what 90s fashion is about. Being daring with your fashion choices and most of all, having fun with it.

4. Try this update on the classic schoolgirl style

This could be straight out of Cher’s closet in Clueless. 90s fashion was all about plaid and schoolgirl grunge, so this look is the perfect modern update. This blue plaid jacket and mini skirt is definitely a showstopper.

5. Be military-inspired with camo

There are so many ways to wear camo prints, like cargo pants, sweatshirts, or t-shirts. The military print is meant to blend in with its surroundings, but we’re loving this orange camo print. A surefire way to stand out in a crowd. And as we’ve now learned, the best way to emulate 90s fashion is to capture everyone’s attention with your bold style.

It’s impossible to talk about 90s fashion without mentioning grunge. Effortless, androgynous, comfortable–the kind of clothes you wear to a Nirvana concert or at the skate park. It’s time to say goodbye to short shorts and embrace skater shorts. Not only do they ooze 90s cool, they’re comfortable (goodbye inner thigh chafing!).
