8 Tips And Tricks To Make Your Room More Summer-Friendly

It’s always nice to change up your room a little bit! The changing of the seasons can be a great excuse to do it. Summertime is a completely fresh, fun season to do this for because you get playful. Make your room summer-friendly with these tips and tricks.

1. Flower power

Putting flowers around your room is a great way of opening up your room to the summertime! You can use your favourite flowers or if you’re not sure what to use, lots of sunflowers, daisies and tulips will look really pretty. What could be more summer-friendly than flowers? Put them up in vases, make daisy chains and tie them together to drape around your bed or pin on the walls or press them onto card and put it up on the wall like a picture.

2. Duvet days

Unfortunately, sometimes in the summer we don’t always get the best weather. So for those days that you are stuck in your room you’ll want to snuggle under the covers and watch some movies. So it’s important to have nice fresh sheets and a clean duvet on your bed. Now obviously, we all change our duvet anyway but in summer it’s nice to use some colourful bedding. Or if you have plain white bedding already, why not tie dye it to make it summer-friendly!

3. Beach vibes

If you’re not going away on holiday, why not create your room into your ultimate beach fantasy. Buy an inflatable palm tree, some hanging paper pineapples and if you’re really creative you could even have a little bucket with sand and a spade. Or depending on your flooring, you could lay down a mat and put sand on it spread around the palm tree. And if your room is big enough, you could set up a beach chair, beach ball and maybe even a minibar filled with summer cocktails! You can get most of these things from Amazon or your local craft store. This will give your room the ultimate summer-friendly vibe.

4. Flower crowns

Be a true queen this summer by filling your room with flower crowns. They’re cheap to buy or easy to make if you wanted to go down the DIY route! You could pin them up on your wall, hang them over your bedposts or have them on your window ledge so any passers by will see them. You could even use them to summer up ordinary things in your room. For example you could put them around your pencil holder, your jewellery stand or even your everyday makeup items that you might leave on you vanity.

5. Be shellfish

Go to your local beach and collect some shells. Or again, you can buy them from a craft store or online. With big open shells you can use them as little bowls in your room such as a key bowl. You could frame them and stick them up on your wall or arrange them in nice patterns around you room. You could also make jewellery with them like bracelets, necklaces and rings.

6. Paint a new chapter

If you are able to, why not paint you walls?! Use vibrant, neon colours like green and orange or pastel shades like lavender and baby pink to brighten up your room. Sometimes the most simple, summer-friendly thing you can do for your room is to just paint it up! A switch in colour will give your room a breath of fresh air and totally change the atmosphere.

7. Sparkle and shine

Use glitter and adhesive stickers to make your room a cute, summer haven. You can put summer-themed or colourful stickers on some of your items. Little suns, flowers and hearts will stick on any items in your room. You could put them on photo frames, your wardrobe or drawers or make collages with them on card to pin up on your wall. You could fill jars with a mix of different colours of glitter to give yourself a personal rainbow! Arrange them on your desk or around your room to give it a neon aesthetic.

8. Fairy lights

Drape around your bed frame put in jars and lay out on your table. Fairy lights always look great. Especially in the summertime. They are pretty and cute and will open up your room by adding more light and fun to the atmosphere. Tangle some daisies or flower crowns in with the wire of the fairy lights to intertwine them with a more summer aesthetic.
