10 Things You Want To Tell Your Big Before They Graduate

There are so many things you want to tell your big before they graduate. They've been with you through it all and there a lot of things you need to thank them for.

One of the best parts about being in a sorority is finding your big. I think every girl can reminisce on the excitement of “big-little week”, — walking into your dorm to find it completely decked out in Greek letters and tons of treats, until finally finding out who your big is and crying of excitement. It’s accurate to say that for sorority girls, finding your big is like finding your soulmate. If you’re like me, there are so many things you want to tell your big before they graduate. Before my big graduates and moves on to the next chapter of her life, there are a list of ten things I would like to thank her for. Dear Big…

1. Thank you for finding me.

I’ll never forget when you told me that you knew I would be your little from the first time you saw me. I’m forever grateful that you chose me to be a part of your sorority family. Thank you for picking me to be your little.

2. Thank you for listening.

I know I can always count on you to be my shoulder to cry on, or to listen to me whenever I have to vent. I may be over-dramatic 99% of the time, but I’m grateful that you listened anyways.

3. Thank you for the laughs.

There have been countless times where we have laughed so hard, we should have a six pack set of abs by now. Whenever I need a good cheer-me up, you are always the person to go to. I’m happy that we both find each other hilarious, especially when no one else does.

4. Thank you for being my workout buddy.

We both know my motivation to go to the gym is at an all-time low, but you always got me out of bed to get our fitness on. There’s no one else I’d rather embarrass myself with at every work-out class. Thanks to you, I can now do more than three push ups. No pain no gain.

5. Thank you for being the big sister I never had.

I think any girl who is the oldest sibling can relate to wondering what it’s like to have an older sister. Over the past few years, you have shown me what it’s like to have someone to look out for me. If I could pick someone to be my older sister, it would be you.

6. Thank you for the memories.

Between the laughs, the cries, getting ready together for late nights out, or staying in and watching movies with our favorite foods, I have had some of my best college memories with you. I’ll cherish those memories forever, even after you graduate, because no one knows how to have fun like you do.

7. Thank you for having my back.

I know how hard it may be to always stick up for someone as crazy as me, but I’m grateful you always had my back no matter what. Thank you for standing by my side through the good and the bad, and being my number one fan at all times.

8. Thank you for being a friend.

As you get older, it’s sometimes hard to figure out who your true friends are. I’ve realized that it’s better to have one or two close friends, and I’m happy to be able to call you one of those people. Thank you for showing me what it’s like to have a true friend.

9. Thank you for being a role model.

I know how to be a great big to my little because you’ve been the best big I could ever ask for. I love that I get to form the same relationship that we have with my own little, and hopefully fulfill your shoes to the fullest.

10. Thank you for being you.

You’re definitely unique in your own way, but that’s what makes you one of my favorite people. I love you for all of your weirdness in everything you do. Thank you for everything I’ve already said, and just for being you. I don’t know what I would do if you weren’t my big.
