Ultimate IU Bucket List

Are you wondering how you can make the most of your IU experience? We have the perfect ideas to help get your IU bucket list started! Here’s the top 10 things every Hoosier needs to do before they graduate!

1. Tailgate!

I know this sounds like a cliché, but this is the only time in your life it’s socially acceptable to get drunk at 9am. You’ll never regret the sleep you lost getting up early for tailgating. On game day make sure to put on your crimson and crème and head to your favorite frat or tailgating spot! Make sure to cheer your Hoosiers to victory too!

2. Shake Herm’s hand.

Whether you’re nervous about a test or just needing some luck shaking Herman B. Well’s hand will help you out. He was the 11th President of IU and our library is named after him, so he’s kind of a big deal.

3. Quarry Jump!

Rooftop Quarry is very close to IU and it’s the perfect place for a study break. You’ll see girls jumping into the quarry in almost every sorority recruitment video. The reason why? It’s fun and adventurous! In a town completely surrounded by cornfields sometimes you need a little adventure to keep you sane.

 

4. Kiss in the Boathouse.

Legend has it if you kiss your special someone at midnight in the boathouse you’ll end up happily ever after. I’m not sure if that’s true, but it sounds great! Why not take a romantic walk through campus and kiss in the beautiful boathouse?

 

5. Little 500

This event is how IU earned the name Best College Weekend. Whether you’re riding or just cheering on your club or house, Little 5 has something for everyone. Last year Bachelor Ben even came!

6. Kilroys on Kirkwood

The famous Bloomington bar is perfect for your 21st birthday or just a casual Thursday night. It’s known to be an even more epic experience than IU frat parties. Make sure to spend multiple weekend nights at this place.

 

7. Swim in Showalter Fountain.

Ever noticed the giant fountain near the music school that looks like it’s giving birth? Well it’s called Showalter fountain or the birth of Venus. Take your shoes and socks off and go for a dip in the fountain. It’ll be an experience you’ll never forget.

8. Feet Up Lights Up

The Indiana University Art Museum offers a beautiful light show on their building. Lay down next to the building, put your feet up, and enjoy the show.

 

9. Breaking Away

The famous movie made about Little 500, aka the best weekend ever. Try to spot your favorite place on campus. Watch the movie and bask in the greatness that is IU.

10. IUDM FTK

 

Dance the night away in the multi-day event. All proceeds go toward Riley Children’s Hospitals, so it’s for a great cause. You’ll be sure to have a lot of fun and make lasting memories at IUDM.
