The Best Shampoo For Dry Hair You Need To Try

Overly dry hair is a lot to deal with. It looks messy without proper you taking proper measures, it’s prone to breakage, dyeing or, especially, bleaching it are absolute no-go’s.

All of that sucks, but it’s not irredeemable, and not unmanageable. All kinds of hair need some sort of special attention, be it styling, cleansing or nourishment – all you gotta do is adapt to it and treat your hair with hair and kindness.

That being said, as an owner of quite problematic hair myself, I’ve come to you with advice and recommendation! So here are six of the best shampoos for dry hair that I personally, or my friends and family have tried out.

Shea Moisture

I’m a big fan of the entire Shea Moisture range. It’s sulfate free and full of natural ingredients, and it’s extremely good and caring with your hair – especially so if you have curlier and/or more voluminous hair, like I do.

Not only does this brand offer an incredible variety of nourising and styling products (that are all made with natural ingredients), they also do have a range specifically for dry hair, titled Moisture Retention. It is filled with the moisture miracle substance – shea butter – and helps your hair keep the moisture in.

In addition, the Moisture Retention line also offers a detangling lotion, which, for dry hair prone to breakage? Is a lifesaver.

Apivita, in general, have amazing hair products. A greek brand that specialises in natural ingredients, they (deservedly) pride themselves in their products.

Their Holistic Hair Care moisturising shampoo is filled with hyaluronic acid and aloe, which are both extremely good for helping tissue hold moisture in better (hence hyaluronic acid’s popularity when it comes to skincare).

Their moisturising range also offers hair masks and “rescue” oils, for the more intense care.

Briogeo Rosarco

We’re starting to get into the more chic and boujee brands here, but Briogeo Rosarco is a good entry point for that, because while the price does sting a little bit – at least it does for me – the results are well worth it.

Extremely reparatory, aimed at highly damaged and dried-out hair, their Don’t Despair, Repair!™ shampoo is a perfect candidate for the best-shampoos-ever award. Despite its price, there’s an incredible amount of reviews, and they are all raving.

Sulfate free (duh) and filled with various natural oils, algae extract and panthenol, it’s the perfect solution for those with very damaged, dry hair, and a bit of extra cash on hand.

Kiehl’s

Where would we, collectively as a society, be without Kiehl’s and their products.

Their Damage Repairing & Rehydrating shampoo is also sulfate free, and packed with hyaluronic acid, ceramides and moringa tree oil, helping revitalise and moisturise weak, dry hair.

It bites less with its pricetag than the Briogeo Rosarco product, too, while the reviews are still quite stellar.

While incredibly budget, Aveeno’s Pure Renewal shampoo is sulfate free, and filled with the incredibly moisturising seaweed extract, as well as numerous vitamins, proteins and other schticks.
