The Best Fall Destinations To Escape The Cold

If you’re like me, you hate when the weather goes under 50 degrees and starts becoming winter. Your only wish is to go somewhere nice and warm to relax and forget about the chilliness of home. Well, you’re in luck! Here are some fall destinations to get away from the cold that will make you forget that winter is on its way! Whether you’re looking for something in the states, or out of the country, I got you covered!

1. Fort Meyers, Florida

This quaint town is growing fast! Tourism is booming and it’s becoming a major destination spot. Florida usually has tropical climate year-round, but very rarely do they drop below 40 degrees during the fall and winter time. Its a few hours drive from Disney World, Sea World, and Busch Gardens, so plan out a day trip to one of these during your stay! There’s also plenty to do in Fort Meyers itself, so have fun!

2. Phoenix, Arizona

Phoenix is the fifth most populous in the U.S. There are a few mountains close by to hike, so bring your hiking shoes! Phoenix has a hot desert climate, so they have HOT summers and mild winters. Perfect to escape the cold of fall in your hometown! But be prepared, Phoenix receives the most sunshine of any major city in the U.S., so the heat is sometimes unbearable. And the best part: its close to the Grand Canyon! Get ready to experience the heat of Phoenix while retreating from the cold!

3. Los Angeles, California

L.A. is home to Hollywood and is the most populous city in California. There’s so much to do while visiting here and it’s too much to list! L.A. has a Mediterranean climate while also experiencing a “June Gloom,” which is a late spring/early summer weather phenomenon that has overcast and foggy skies in the morning and ending the day with sunshine. The city rarely goes below 40 degrees, so you’ll definitely escape the cold here!

4. Sydney, Australia

Sydney is the most populous city in Australia and it is the most expensive cities in the world to actually live in. But visiting there is do-able! Sydney has a large tourist appeal and hosts thousands of international visitors a night, including international students from other countries. Sydney has a humid subtropical climate, which makes summers warm and winters cool. While the U.S. is experiencing fall, Australia is moving into their summer months, which is perfect for U.S. visitors trying to escape the cold!

5. Cancun, Mexico

Close to the Caribbean, Cancun is one of Mexico’s easternmost points. They hardly ever have a change in seasons because the city is hot year-round and almost always has a tropical climate. During the fall in the U.S., the climate usually drops in certain places, but in Cancun, the weather is summer all the time. So pack your bathing suit and your sunscreen and get ready for a vacay to Mexico!

6. Houston, Texas

Houston is the most populous city in Texas and the fourth most populous state in the U.S. NASA’s Johnson Space Center is located here and there are so many cool things to do in this city like the aquarium and visit many of its parks. Houston has a humid subtropical climate where they only experience two seasons: a wet season from April to October and a dry season from November to March.  They typically receive a lot of rain, so be prepared for a few showers while visiting!
