Coconut oil is a godsend in so many ways. Just when you think it can not be used for anything else, a new remedy appears. It is super healthy and packed with omega 3 oils along with tons of other benefits. Here are 10 surprising uses for coconut oil.

1. Makeup remover

Save some of your hard earned cash by substituting your pricey makeup wipes with a single jar of coconut oil. Put a small bit into your hands and rub into your face and watch your day’s makeup disappear.  Follow up with your regular routine of cleanser, toner, and moisturizer.

2. Skin moisturizer

In addition to removing your makeup, coconut oil can be used to deeply moisturize your skin. It is natural, hydrating, and refreshing. In addition, this is also great to use on your hands, especially as a cuticle oil.

3. Teeth whitener

This is an interesting use for coconut oil. Use it to whiten your teeth with one simple trick called oil pulling. Before brushing your teeth, you simply take a spoonful of coconut oil and swish it around in your mouth for 15 – 20 minutes. Finish off your dental routine by brushing your teeth as you normally would.

Coconut oil and cooking generally go hand in hand, and it has been frequently called a superfood across several blogs and all over the internet. It can be used in the kitchen in so many ways. It can be used for grilling because of its high cooking point and is also used for baking if you replace it with butter.

You no longer need to rely on expensive brands like Redken or Living Proof to deep condition your hair. Coconut oil is now the way to go. To combat the dry Fall and Winter seasons, you can DIY hair mask using this oil. This can be applied to wet or dry hair and is best left overnight to see maximum results. If you use this mask consistently ( some suggest once a week ) your hair will feel thicker and more hydrated.

Walk out of the shower with your legs feeling dolphin soft. Coconut oil provides intense moisture to your entire body. Use this as a natural way to remove body hair and reveal your smoothest skin.

There is an insane amount of ways that you can use coconut for your skin and to make your skin look better than ever. It can be used to help with acne, athlete’s foot and other issues caused by bacteria. It can also be used to reduce inflammation that can be caused by psoriasis, contact dermatitis, and other skin conditions.

Create your own DIY lip gloss with just a few simple ingredients. Coconut oil, honey, and essential oils that will leave your lips baby soft.

9. Makeup brush cleaner

The coconut oil will protect the bristles of your brushes, leaving them soft and moisturized while still cleaning out all of the excess makeup. Rinse out with a mild soap or baby shampoo afterward. This is a great option for anyone with sensitive skin or allergies.

10. Night cream

It is a great life hack for anyone who is in the market for a new night cream. It may be too heavy to apply and use under makeup, but it is perfect to apply at night after a long day.
