Most of the year you can catch me wearing all black every day. My go-to outfit is black jeans, a black crewneck and some black slip-ons. Clearly, my color palette is severely lacking. And I know I’m not the only one who struggles with incorporating color into their wardrobe. When I walk down the streets wearing all black, there are so many other monochromatic people too. It’s like everyone lately has forgotten how to dress in fun patterns and colors! With summer starting, there is no better time to start to incorporate more daring pieces into your everyday looks. My favorite way to do that is through prints, so here are some summer prints that are trending in 2018 to try out!
Animal pattern clothes really blossomed after all the fashion weeks this past year. It seemed like every designer was pulling out some sort of leopard or tiger or snakeskin print in their collection. And don’t worry, you can totally rock a leopard print dress without looking like a Jersey Shore cast member!

For more of a subtle print this summer, try a vintage-inspired floral number! There are a lot of really expensive brands coming out with dresses that incorporate this print, but seriously you can go to your local thrift store and get the same look for cheap.

This is probably the hottest print of the summer. And it totally makes sense because your gingham dress will totally match the picnic blanket on all of those summer cookouts!

While there’s really nothing wrong with a horizontal stripe, vertical stripes are truly the way to go. They elongate everything about you and make you look like a skyscraper! Which, who wouldn’t want that??

This classic pattern is definitely making a huge comeback this summer. From large to small, polka dots are everywhere! My favorite way to wear them is on a nice sundress!
They say everything comes back around, and the 70s are definitely making a return. Get ready to grab all the Woodstock inspired flowy, tiered and embroidered dresses and shirts this summer!
One of the biggest motif patterns of the summer is fruit. I know that’s kind of random, but seriously! Lemons especially are a super popular motif to seen on clothes. Any sort of quirky little print is going to be everywhere! This runway look is definitely trending in 2018.
