1. Cinnamon Sugar Grilled Peaches

If you’ve ever had grilled peaches before, you’ll know what a delicious and perfect dessert these can make. The process creates a crispy exterior while keeping the inside soft and juicy (make sure you buy really juices peaches) and grilling really brings out a whole new flavour level with the natural sweetness of the peach even more. Add the cinnamon sugar topping, and you’ve got yourself a recipe that tastes just like peach cobbler and only takes a few minutes to make! Yum!

2. Grilled Pineapple

Thanks to the natural sweetness of pineapples, grilling them turns them into a perfect barbecue dessert option. Just like grilled peaches, grilling pineapples creates a crisp exterior and soft interior, with an amped up sweetness factor. You can leave them as just grilled, or if you feel like adding a topping, there are lots of ideas. Try a scoop of coconut sorbet for a piña colada reminiscent dessert, or a cinnamon sugar butter glaze that will caramelize as it cooks or go for boozy with a rum and cream sauce to dip!

Keeping with our fruit theme to start, because after all summer is all about the fruits, we’ve got grilled grapefruit! It may seem like an odd choice of dessert, with grapefruit being so sour, but cooking it with a touch of honey or sugar helps create a caramelized exterior that balances out the sour with sweet. You can also try adding a dollop of mascarpone cheese on top, or, like this recipe, cook it with honey, pistachios for crunch, and créme fraîche for a perfect dessert!
