10 Skincare Products You Need To Start Off 2023 With Great Skin

With the new year swiftly approaching, everyone wants to put their best foot forward and look their best, too. Having skin that feels clean, healthy, and well taken care of can be a game-changer, which is why I’ve compiled ten skincare products that you absolutely need in order to start of 2023 with great skin!

1. Glow Recipe Plum Pump Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizer

Of all the moisturizers I’ve tried, this one is my favorite. While a tad on the expensive side, moisturizer is arguably the most important part of your skincare routine. This is worth every penny, and it will leave you skin feeling nourished and refreshed.

This is a great moisturizer for combination/dry skin and sensitive skin, and Glow Recipe uses clean ingredients in all of their products. The Plum Pump Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizer is a great, planet positive skincare product that you definitely need going into the new year.

2. Isle of Paradise Natural Glow Self-Tanning Drops

For several years now, these have been a staple of my winter skincare routine. During the cold months of minimal sunshine, getting that natural color in your face can be almost impossible, and getting a spray tan isn’t my personal preference. This is the next best thing.

These self-tanning drops can simply be added to your moisturizer at night (just a couple should do the trick), and in the morning, you’ll wake up with a more natural glow to your face. There are different shade options for different skin tones, and this brand is both vegan and cruelty free!

3. The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Masque

There are so many charcoal and clay face masks on the market, but this one is one of the best and most affordable options. It’s designed to target “textural irregularities” and it helps with blemishes and dull skin.

At only twelve dollars, this is a skincare product that you absolutely need to try out, even if you end up deciding it’s not for you. I use this mask about once a week, and it’s super easy to leave on for ten minutes or so after a shower and then wash off. I would highly recommend this mask to anyone looking for brighter skin in the new year!

4. Hero Cosmetics Rescue Balm

This is one of the most magical skincare products I’ve ever used—and you can get it for just thirteen dollars at any Target! It’s a simple cream that’s used for post-blemish recovery and it soothes things like popped pimples and blemish scars.

Hero is an amazing brand, and this is just one of their many incredible products. It’s a very affordable cosmetics brand in general, and the Rescue Balm is must-have for everyday skincare. I wouldn’t go into 2023 without it!

5. Aquaphor

While this may seem like a strange addition to this list, Aquaphor has never steered me wrong, and it’s one of the best skincare items out there. It’s essentially just petroleum jelly, but it’s incredibly moisturizing and very affordable. Aquaphor is the #1 recommended product by dermatologists for dry skin, and especially during the winter season, this is an essential for the upcoming new year.

This is also a great product to use on your entire face every once in a while; that might seem unnecessary, but “slugging” has been a popular skincare trend in 2022, and you can continue it on into the next year by using Aquaphor for this method. It will restore moisture to your skin and protect it from damage, and it’s also the best lip balm of all time.

6. Juice Beauty Stem Cellular 2-in-1 Cleanser

While it’s a little bit more expensive than most drugstore cleansers, this is a product worth investing in. A little bit goes a long way, and it lasts for a long time! Juice Beauty is known for creating some incredible skincare products, and they are eco-friendly vegan, cruelty free, and use all-natural and organic ingredients.

This cleanser is also a toner, and the formula promises to deeply cleanse and tone your skin to make it softer and more moisturized. This is one of the best cleansers I have ever personally used, and it’s a great skincare product to bring with you into 2023.

7. LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask

Maybe you’ve heard of this one before, which wouldn’t be too surprising because it’s been one of the most popular skincare products of 2022. LANEIGE is another great brand, and their Lip Sleeping Mask is their best-seller.

Before bed, simply apply this mask to your lips. It “…delivers intense moisture and antioxidants while you sleep!” This fan-favorite product is derived from organic ingredients and will make your lips incredibly soft and moisturized.

8. The Ordinary Retinol 1% In Squalane

This is the second The Ordinary product on here, but it’s because they make great skincare that’s also super affordable. Their Retinol 1% in Squalane is definitely worth adding to your skincare routine; it targets signs of aging and helps with uneven skin and texture.

This is a serum that can be used nightly, typically after you apply your moisturizer. Also, if you’re not used to using a retinoid, start out with their Retinol 0.2% or 0.5% and then work your way up to using this particular product.

9. La Roche-Posay Anthelios Mineral Tinted Sunscreen For Face

Sunscreen is a vital part of skincare that often gets forgotten. It is so important to apply sunscreen to your face every day, no matter where you’re going and what you’re doing; it protects your skin and keeps it from aging quickly. La Roche-Posay is an amazing brand, and their sunscreen is perfect for your skincare routine as you enter a new year.

This facial sunscreen is slightly tinted and is 100% mineral; it has a lightweight feel and absorbs into your skin very fast, arming your face with UVA/UVB protection and antioxidants.

10. Numbuzin No. 6 Deep Sleep Mask Serum

Numbuzin is a Korean skincare brand, and they have so many amazing products that I absolutely love. Their Deep Sleep Mask Serum, however, is my favorite. All you have to do is apply this to your face right before bed, and you’ll wake up with skin that feels refreshed and ready for the day, even if you didn’t get much sleep!

I take this everywhere with me, and it’s a must-have for everyday use, travel, and those nights where you just know you’re not going to get your allotted eight hours.

What are your favorite skincare products from 2022, and which ones will you be using in 2023? Let us know in the comments!
