1. Emma’s Healthy Milkshake

This is one of the best smoothie recipes for summer because it’s both delicious and simple. Despite being made of only 4 healthy ingredients, this smoothie has the texture and flavor of a chocolate shake. The ingredients are: 1/2-1 frozen banana, a heaping scoop of peanut butter, one scoop of chocolate protein powder, and milk or a milk substitute. The texture of your shake will vary based on the amount of milk that you add, with less milk resulting in an ice-cream texture and more milk resulting in a shake texture. Add these ingredients to a blender and within seconds you will have a delicious, filling and healthy snack.

2. Green Dream Smoothie

One of the advantages of drinking smoothies is that they allow you to consume a large number of healthy vitamins and nutrients in one sitting. This green machine smoothie is one of the most nutrient rich smoothie recipes on this list. The ingredients include: 1 cup of kale, 1 cup of spinach, the juice of 1/2 of an orange, one frozen banana and a cup of frozen pineapple. You can optionally add almond milk if you prefer a more creamy texture. If you’re looking for a healthy post-workout snack, or a quick and easy breakfast, try this green machine smoothie.

3. Berry Bonanza Smoothie

An easy way to keep the ingredients for smoothies in your home is through buying mixed bags of frozen berries. These mixes are usually available in the frozen section of your local grocery store. Keeping your fruit in the freezer will ensure that it does not expire before you can finish it, and often the variety of fruits in these mixes makes for great smoothies. For example, if the mix of fruits contains blackberries, strawberries, raspberries and blueberries, all you need additionally for a great smoothie is some greek yogurt and fruit juice of your choosing. By using frozen berry mixes, you’re ensured to have ingredients for a multitude of smoothie recipes.

4. Coffee Breakfast Smoothie

This coffee breakfast smoothie is like combining your morning coffee with your morning breakfast. To make this smoothie add 3/4 cup of cold-brew coffee, one frozen banana, 1 scoop of chocolate or vanilla protein powder, and ice to a blender and blend until thick and creamy.
