
The City of Choctaw is located in the central part of Oklahoma, a bedroom community East of the Oklahoma City metro area. Choctaw, OK has a small town feel just minutes away from downtown OKC.
Old Germany Restaurant is an Oklahoma favorite with the best authentic German food and drinks. Every fall the restaurant closes for two weeks and puts on German fest in Choctaw Creek Park. The German fest started in a single tent outside the parking lot of the restaurant, too a total park takes over and growing every year.
Turek’s Tavern is an up-scale sports bar attached to the Old Germany Restaurant and a great hang out. Good pub food, drinks, and live music on Thursday and Friday’s. Very friendly place, guaranteed to run into someone you know.
Oklahoma Territory Land Run of April 22, 1889, came through Choctaw. Indian Meridian road is a landmark for this historical event. Indian Meridian Elementary School reenacts the land run by dressing up in period dress and making wagons trains to make their stake for land ownership.
