Lights, camera, action! No, wait…scratch that. Palm Trees, angels, Los Angeles! YES, the City of Angels, that’s what I’m talking about. Los Angeles is a city full of different people, food, and sights to see. And if you’re an LA native, these signs are a couple things that you have probably accustomed to.
You bet it is! Many of us become confused when it begins raining, especially because it is such a rare cause. Do I need an umbrella? Or a raincoat? Both? I don’t even know.
Monday, sunny with a small chance of rain. Tuesday, heavy rain with no chance of sun. Now we understand that, but when it is sunny throughout the entire summer season and cold throughout the entire winter season, it seems quite odd. It is likely you’re from LA when you find it strange to see the sun or rain for longer than a day.
Spanish; It’s a beautiful language and can be found spoken all around the city. You’ll realize after living in LA that whether you studied the language or not, you know at least two words.
Everyone and anyone can be found in LA! So many different and beautiful people everywhere. It is the easiest place to meet someone with a different background, just as easy it is to try new food.
Want to try Asian food? How about some Greek? Mexican? Or Italian? You have got it all! Whatever the craving it is, there is a good chance that you have tried it.
We can thank traveling for that. There is a good chance that you leave to go anywhere with at least twenty minutes to spare. Maybe it’s the 101 or it’s the 405, either way you are prepared.
It does NOT matter where you are, but if you are from LA and it is below 75°, chances are that you’re wearing something close to a parka right now. This winter, I was sleeping with a hoodie, sweatpants, socks, a scarf, a beanie, and more socks, true story. And it was only a little rain and wind, but I was living as if I was in Antarctica!
Living in the City of Angels? Then you have seen at something in the act of being filmed. Could be a commercial, or a movie, or a music video! I was picking up my high school diploma and I was asked to use another exit because I accidentally walked onto a set.
There is no place like In N’ Out… literally. Once you’ve had their hamburgers, it’s hard to go back!
The one sign that definitely proves you’re from LA is, well, when you introduce yourself! Duh! It’s really fun to see their reaction! Personally, I love to tell people where I come from, just as much as I love hearing where they are from! I’m sure we will be doing this a lot at Berkeley.
