80’s fashion is so in style right now and the TV show Friends is a great example of some fab trendy looks, many of them worn by Monica Geller. Even though Rachel is thought of as the style icon I often found myself most drawn to Monica’s wardrobe. She perfected keeping simple stylish and so many looks are worth re-creating in 2019.
Red is a great colour on Monica! It goes so well with her skin tone and dark hair and makes everything pop. This outfit is super casual but looks stunning and is great for a summer day that is still a little too chilly to have your legs out. Pair with some Adidas trainers to properly enforce the retro.

One of my favourite looks in the winter is a roll neck and skirt and when rewatching Friends I realised I was probably inspired by Monica Geller. Roll necks are great to give you a slim look whilst enhancing your curves. Tartan is my absolute fave pattern/print and is really diverse. All you have to do is a simple change, for example, the number of stripes vertically or horizontally, the width, colour and the distance between the stripes.

We all know that trousers and culottes are in right now and stripes are a great choice. They might already be a staple in your wardrobe. Fashion has long been obsessed with stripes and they pop up season after season. Stripes come in all shapes and sizes, even directions and are great if you’re looking to elongate the height of your legs.
What is great about this outfit is that it can be played down casual like Monica is wearing or dolled up and made formal for great for a night out. By now we can tell Monica likes a pastel floral print but to shop this look I’m going to show you a short, leopard print slip dress. Leopard has history loaded with symbolism, from power to seduction. The perfect statement print with a bit of edge.
Going to the gym or working out is no longer just about the physical activity but what you are wearing and while that is annoying and superficial it does give us a chance to buy some super cute gym clothes.
