15 Savory And Delicious Fall Soup Recipes To Make This Fall

One thing I always look forward to when fall time comes around is the food! There’s the one and only pumpkin pie, any dish or dessert involving sweet potato, and savory soups that have the ability to warm you up even on a chilly day. There’s just something so comforting and inviting about eating soup during autumn, while the leaves are falling and you’re all bundled up by a toasty fire.

All of the recipes listed below are sure to be a hit! Even if you’re only making them for a portion for one. They can also all be cooked in different ways. For example, if you prefer using a crock-pot to make your soups, you can do that. If you don’t own one or an instant pot, you can just use a regular stovetop.

1. Creamy Roasted Tomato and Basil

Ahhh, a classic—the taste of perfectly roasted tomatoes and fresh basil. And the great thing about this recipe, in particular, is the fact that it adds in potatoes and peppers for a little something extra. The more flavor the better, right?

2. Pumpkin Soup With Grilled Cheese Croutons

This soup is fall in a bowl. It’s deliciously savory with a hint of sweet. Also, anything grilled cheese related, I like. So, of course, I fell in love with this recipe as soon as I found it! (Mainly because of the grilled cheese croutons, though).

Another great thing about it is that it only takes 30 minutes to whip up!

3. Asian Chicken Noodle

Chicken noodle soup is a major classic when it comes to fall soups and just soup in general. As yummy and comforting as it is, however, why not change it up and try something new every once in a while? Take this recipe for example. It’s basically a creamier, more saucy take on the original chicken noodle soup. It’s just as tasty, too!

4. Thai Curry Vegetable Soup

It may be packed with vegetables, but that certainly doesn’t mean it’s not delicious. It’s spicy and has the perfect amount of Thai flavors. This recipe is super customizable, too! It was made vegetarian but you can add in meat of your choice if you truly please.

6. Lentil Soup

Lentils make for a great soup staple. However, they can take a bit longer to cook: about 25-minutes or so. Other than that, this soup recipe comes together relatively easily and doesn’t fall short of being delicious.

It can also be made in one pot! And who doesn’t love an easy clean-up?

7. Roasted Butternut Squash and Bacon

You’re going to want to stay inside to make this one over and over again. In all seriousness, butternut squash soup is, without a doubt, one of the tastiest dishes I’ve ever eaten. What makes this soup recipe so special is how the squash gets roasted and blended in with the bacon, giving you the right amount of smokiness. It does call for goat cheese, and if you’re not a fan you can easily leave that out.

Served in a bread bowl, this cheesy broccoli soup is truly out of this world. It’s like the one you can order from Panera Bread but even better because you made it yourself from scratch.

It’s a unique combination but surely a yummy one. My favorite thing about this recipe in particular is that it calls for sun-dried tomatoes! You can never go wrong adding those to…well…just about anything! I’m eager to try this one out for myself this fall.

10. Sweet Potato Bisque

Fall without sweet potato? That can’t, and will never, happen. Sweet potato is just too good to pass up. Ironically enough, I’ve yet to try sweet potato pie. Hopefully, that changes this fall.

Also, the color of this soup alone screams autumn. It’s the perfect shade of orange!

11. French Pearl Onion Soup

Another fun twist on a classic because why not? Instead of using just standard yellow onion alone, pearl onions are added into the mix for a touch of sweetness. You’ll find that flavor is extremely apparent in this dish, all thanks to the tiny addition of balsamic vinegar, dried sage, thyme, and red wine for deglazing. Yum!
