I love everything about summer, and one of my favourite things about it is being able to have iced coffee on a hot summer’s day. There are so many different ways to have it, and there’s a style for everyone. Here are 10 refreshing coffee drinks that you should try this summer.
Of course, you cannot go wrong with Classic Iced Coffee. This is very easy to make at home and almost certainly every cafe will have their version of this drink for you. Simply pour freshly brewed coffee into a glass of ice, stir, add cold milk and liquid sweetener if desired. Yum!
This is my favourite iced coffee of all time. I love the sweet, fresh flavour and creamy taste. This coffee uses condensed milk which automatically gives it a sweet flavour. Mix part condensed milk a touch of fresh cream and a pinch of cardamom to make this very flavoursome and delicious drink.
This is by far my favourite item on the Starbucks menu. A Mocha Frappuccino is very refreshing for those hot summer months and is very hard to resist. The chocolate syrup, freshly blended coffee and whipped cream makes this coffee drink heavenly.
Spanish lattes put a twist on the regular iced coffee by mixing in dulce de leche with coffee. The combination of the beautifully sweet dulce de leche is amazing. Combined with whipped cream on top, if you would like, this is a coffee drink that needs to be tried during those warm summer months.
Of course, there had to be an Italian iced coffee on the list. Italians don’t mess around when it comes to coffee and this is one of their specialities for coffee and ice cream lovers to combine. It can be had either as your daily dose of coffee of the day or as dessert. Cafe affogato is made by brewing fresh coffee with your Italian “Moka” coffee maker and adding a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream. Ecco! Buonissimo.
I am definitely not someone who can resist caramel coffee on occasion. The caramel combines perfectly with the coffee flavour and is something I enjoy even warm quite often. Simply mix caramel syrup with hot coffee and whipped cream on the top to make this delicious drink.
Who says it isn’t ok to start the day with a little Irish cream? It’s only just a bit of Baileys right? Baileys is a liquor that is of course made from coffee and goes perfectly with fresh iced coffee if you’re looking for a pick me up in the morning or an afternoon treat.
This American style coffee is delicious for those summer months. Simply blend vanilla ice cream, freshly brewed coffee and ice and add whipped cream on top for a very yummy drink. This is very popular during the summer months and is also known as a vanilla coffee milkshake.
Vietnamese Iced Coffee is another one of my favourite types of iced coffee, also called ‘cafe da’. This drink is made with dark roast Vietnamese coffee beans that are brewed in a small Vietnamese drip filter and mixed with condensed milk and ice cubes. Delicious, sweet and refreshing.
