Finding “the one” may seem impossible after many failed attempts at love. But what if you already have found the one and you just don’t know it yet? Your best friend may very well be the person you’ve been looking for. So keep reading to find out why you should date your best friend!

1. They know what you like.

They know what your favorite food is, where you like to go for dates, and what makes you happy. AND, he or she know what flowers to bring you and which candy makes you jump for joy!!

2. They know your dislikes.

The noises that make you cringe, the food that makes you hurl, all your pet peeves; they already know. And they know not to do those things that make you want to thump yourself on the head.

3. Chances are, they’ve already been pre-approved by your family.

Your family loves them already. If mom and dad gave the seal of approve as a friend then it’s much easier to get the dating seal of approval.

4. You know you can always count on them.

They’ve given you their last animal cracker at lunch, they’ve let you stay over their house when you don’t feel like dealing with your parents. Oh, and let’s not forget all the times they’ve covered for you sneaking out to go to a late-night party.

5. You’re already comfortable with them.

You can sing at the top of your lungs in the car and they won’t look at you like you have 4 heads. They’ll join in. They’ve already seen you without make up and don’t think you’re a hideous monster, in fact they tell you “you don’t need makeup, makeup needs you.” I MEAN COME ON, HOW CUTE IS THAT?!

6. They already know about your past relationships.

They’ve dealt with the post-breakup shopping sprees and crying at the mention of Friends because that was your ex’s fave tv show. They know the reasons behind the breakups too, so they’re less likely to make those same mistakes.

7. They’ve been by your side through your worst times.

Going back to past break ups, they were right by your side for that. When you didn’t get accepted into your first-choice college, they told you that you are first in their heart. They always knew exactly what to say and when to say it to make you laugh and smile and forget your problems in the first place.

8. You can skip all the pre-dating getting-to-know-you stuff.

They already know everything about you! There’s no need to go through the awkward “what’s your favorite…” conversations. Sometimes they know you better than you know yourself.

9. They know all your weird tendencies.

The way you wildly dance in your room while cleaning it, the duck faces you make while putting on makeup, and of course your serious case of road rage.

10. And they still love you despite all of them.

Which makes it all worth it in the end.
