5 Reasons Why You Should Cut Your Hair This Fall

Autumn is the season of change, why not apply that to your hair? Here are 5 reasons why you should make the cut this fall!

1. Season of Change

Fall is the season of change, why shouldn’t that apply to your hair, too? We’ve all had those moments of just wanting to chop our hair off and start fresh. This fall is your chance to start over!

There is a famous quote by Coco Chanel that says, “A woman cuts her hair is about to change her life,” and it’s true! Cutting your hair is symbolic of change, and if you have wanted to cut your hair, maybe it’s a signal of change!

This fall, chop off your hair and start fresh. Make a change to your style and feel empowered! Hair is often a massive part of a woman’s identity, but just remember that it is only temporary and it will grow back!

2. Summer Equals Damage

Summer can wreak havoc on our hair. Between being in direct sunlight more often and being in chlorine and saltwater, our hair really takes a beating.

Believe it or not, chlorine is similar to bleach, which is hugely damaging to hair. And what do we do in summer? We swim in the pools. A lot. And if you’re not in a pool, maybe you’re in the ocean. Unfortunately, saltwater is very drying on your hair and can cause breakage and split ends. And just when you think it can’t get any worse, the sun comes and causes even more damage.

This fall, get rid of the damage that summer caused and chop off those damaged ends! Even though a big cut might seem scary, you will be helping your hair out tremendously by starting fresh!

3. Easier to Maintain

During the fall all the jackets, coats, and hats make a comeback and having short hair will save you from matted hair and those annoying times when your hair gets caught in the zipper of your jacket.

Having short hair means having fewer tangles, and it is much easier to maintain. You don’t have to worry about finding a hairstyle that will look good in a hat because let’s face it, all short hair looks fantastic with a beanie!

Short hair also means less product, which equals more money in the bank to spend on the things you really want and need!

4. Make a Difference

Cutting your hair can be scary, but what makes it that much more comfortable in knowing that it is going to a good cause. If your hair is long enough, consider donating to an organization that will make your hair into a wig for someone battling hair loss diseases such as cancer or alopecia.

There are dozens of organizations that will do this with as little as 7 inches, which isn’t that much when you think about the difference you are making. I personally have donated my hair twice (Pantene Beautiful Lengths and Hair We Share) and it is so rewarding to think that someone battling hair loss can feel more confident with the hair I have donated.

Think about it, hair is a massive part of your identity, can you imagine losing it to a disease? Your hair will grow back! It’s only hair and several inches to change a life.

5. Be in Style!

Short hair is always in style, let’s be real. Short hair looks fantastic on everyone, and it looks way healthier than long hair usually does!

Short hair is also a lot easier to style than long hair, and it takes half the time to style than long hair! Short hair also looks terrific with sweaters, beanies, and turtlenecks so you will be in style all autumn! Short hair is very in right now, and there’s no shortage of hair cut inspiration. Make the cut and be in style all season long!
