10 Reasons Why You Love The Crepe Bar At North Dining Hall

Before going to college, everyone told me that the food sucks and I would be living off of hot ramen and greasy late night food. With this notion, I braced myself for the worst tasting food possible. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I spotted a creperie in North Dining Hall. From a professional sugar enthusiast like myself, I am not one to resist sugar concoction and I knew there was no turning back! Here are 10 reason why I love the Crepe Bar at North Dining Hall:

1. Dessert Now, Dinner Later!

When we were kids, we all had this temptation of sneaking a quick bite of dessert before dinner. Well, now we can!

2. Create your own!

What’s so great about these crepes are that you can customize them to your liking. You can put one topping, two toppings, or if you’re like me, all of them! Go big or go home!

3. BYO

If they don’t have what you want, bring it! I typically bring my own jar of Nutella because what is a crepe without Nutella. It turns my simple banana and brown sugar crepe into something absolutely delicious!

4. Feeling Adventurous…

To mix it up from their routinely schedule, North Dining Hall holds several theme nights during the semester. This past holiday break, they made a gingerbread crepe with a whipped crème filling topped with cranberry compote.

5. Beware the Freshman 15

We all know about the haunting Freshman 15, however that shouldn’t hold us back from eating a crepe. For me, North Dining hall is on the opposite side of campus, so why should I feel guilty when I can walk off the calories.

6.Service on Point!

The dining service team at UConn are some of most genuinely, dedicated people on campus. They might not know you by name, but they do recognize those dedicated crepe fans, like myself.

7. One isn’t enough!

You are not limited in just eating one crepe. If you’re like me and one isn’t enough, you can always stand in line again and get another one.

8. In a rush… no worries!

College students are always so busy to actually sit down and eat. However, the line for crepes are never too long and if they are, they go by really quickly!

9. Social Hour

Dinner is my favorite meal of the day because it is the one meal where I don’t have to eat alone. Within my friends group, we turned crepe night into our college “tradition,” to dedicate some time outside our busy schedule.

10. Perfect way to end your day!

As the week starts to wind down, who wouldn’t want to celebrate their week accomplishments with a delicious crepe. Every week I eat one and it never fails to put a smile on my face.
