It’s just about time for us all to say goodbye to the only life we’ve ever known, and begin a new chapter… college. Many students are nervous and worried about the college experience that awaits them, but I am beyond excited to begin my journey at KSU. Here are the top ten reasons I can’t wait to start school at Kent State!
If you’re like me, you love a good festival. There’s great music, delicious food, and ample chances to meet new friends. With Blastoff, Homecoming, the Black Squirrel Festival, and many more, it seems like there will never be a dull moment on campus!
It’s like a playground for college students. The center includes a rock wall for the adventurous crowd, a beautiful swimming area with a two pools, a rehabilitation vortex, a spa, workout equipment for everyone, and last but not least, an ice arena. Better yet, it’s free to join as a student! I think I may be keeping my New Year’s resolution this year.
Kent State has over 350 student organizations that range from fashion modeling to improv. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, you can start your own club! I know I am going to have trouble choosing just a few to join.
Students can attend all home games for free. Yep, I’ll be the one screaming my head off in the crowd.
There are so many different choices for lunch, dinner, and snacks right on campus ranging from healthy vegan menus to diner comfort food. Freshman fifteen, here I come!
Parta offers free bus service throughout the entire campus, so you don’t have to!

Watch new movies for free every week in the Kiva. Movie times are Fridays at 10pm and Saturdays at 7 and 10pm.
Kent State boasts a student body of about 41,000 with students from all 50 states and over 110 countries. I can’t wait to meet people from around the world and learn about their culture while teaching them about mine.
