10 Rare Fashion Trends You Won’t Wanna Miss

As much as following celebs on TV can show us the latest trends, there’s some part of us that tends follow the people around us when it comes to fashion. These are trends you might have noticed picking up in recent years due to the internet serving as a platform for greater self-expression.

The more confident you feel talking to other people as yourself and wearing what you want, the more you’ll feel like you. Picking a few fashionable trends to follow is a great place to start in your self-discovery journey.

1. Cuffed Pants

Pack away the skinny jeans, we’re following a new trend now. As much as early 2000s fashion focused on tight tank tops and leggings, recent years have shown the majority of teenagers wearing baggy clothes again. This includes large shirts and most importantly, larger pants. Light fabric cuffed pants are all the rage right now, so get ready to get comfortable.

2. Undercuts

Ready to try out a new hairstyle? Look, you might be scared of the time when you decide to grow out the part you shave, but having an undercut is awesome. When my hair was long, I shaved the back of it, and it made going to the gym feel like it almost didn’t suck. Not having those baby hairs clinging to my neck or the thick mane that went with it when I got sweaty made a huge difference. Grab those clippers (or ask a friend who knows what they’re doing) and make your day to day more convenient.

3. Upper-Lobe Piercings

Pinterest is clawing at the fences to show you the cute chain earrings you could be wearing if only you had another piercing or two. Getting a piercing on the cartilage of your ear might sting for a few days, but you’ll feel like a cool cat afterwards, guaranteed. You might make sure to check with Mom before you do anything too drastic, though. Just in case.

4. Front Tuck

Tan France is right when he advocates for this lifesaving fashion advice. Men, women, and non-binary folks with long torsos, open your hearts to the idea of showing the world that you do, in fact, have a waist. As tempting as it is to hide beneath large shirts, you’ll look and feel a lot better once you begin showing off the one belt you own from time to time.

5. Slogan Hats

Not much to say here other than the fact that these are hats with funny words or phrases on them. They’ve been popular in recent months, but there are enough out in stores for you  to find one that strikes you as truly unique.

6. Tall Socks

What are we, you might be thinking, school girls? Definitely not. Grab some tall socks with psychedelic patterns on them that YOU fall in love with. These are perfect for the fall months when you still want to wear shorts but it’s cool outside, or for those days of softball practice. Whichever works.

7.  Under-eyeliner

Playing with makeup more has been the result of Instagram promoter quests everywhere. As my thoughts on the matter stand: Who cares if your brows are perfect when you can smear colors on your eyelids? Give eyeliner on your waterline a shot, even just goofing off. It doesn’t have to be a look you use all the time, but it can be fun for concerts and the like.

8. Multiple Bracelets

Hello, 90s. As the escapist Millennials cling to the fashion of their early adult years, us Gen-Z kids get the entertainment of trying out new trends. One of these trends was beaded bracelets and woven ones, both of the friendship type in nature. Wearing a bunch of bracelets on your arms casually disregards style enough to make it fashionable. Yes it seems counter-intuitive. Oh well.

9. Dyed Hair

Perhaps you’ve dyed your hair in the past, perhaps you’ve waited for the right time, but the right time is now. Colorful hair can bring joy to both you and the people around you. When my hair was bright purple, I had a great time waving at all the little kids who stared. Let loose your inhibitions and give hair dye a shot.

10. Bomber Jackets

Speaking of dated looks, here’s one your great grandpa might remember. Don’t bother grabbing a fancy, super expensive bomber jacket from the upper-tier mall. The best one I got actually happened to come from a Plato’s Closet. Keep your eyes peeled, fashionistas. You got this.
