The no makeup look is on the rise! It can make it seem like you’re just a fun-spirited, free-willed, cool girl when in reality you probably spent 20 minutes sitting in front of a mirror trying to cover that one little spot on your face. No one needs to wear makeup, but it can be a fun and creative way to appear all-natural while still adding a bit of confidence to your day!

1. Covergirl Clean Fresh Skin Milk Foundation

Although having the word “milk” in the name may be a little unsettling, this stuff is amazing! Its super light on your skin and has (build-able) light coverage. It’s perfect for someone just looking to have a base for the rest of their no makeup look. If you’re looking to cover up blemishes, scarring or acne you can always put some concealer (mentioned below) on those spots for more coverage! My favorite way to apply this product is with my hands, the warmth of your skin allows the makeup to melt into your skin rather than just sit on top of it making the no makeup look even more believable. You could also use a beauty sponge but that may soak up more product.

2. Glossier Cloud Paint

If you’ve ever watched a Youtuber from LA then you know what this product is. It is a similar texture to a foundation but its blush! It’s easy to put on using your hands (or a brush if you want to keep it clean). This product is a nice way to add some natural color to your skin which is perfect for a no makeup look. My favorite shades are puff which is a super light pink that is pretty in the summer or spring, and Haze which is a deeper maroon-ish color that is better for fall or winter. This product could also be used to add some color to your lips. The best way to apply this is with your fingers or a stipple brush.

3. Glossier Boy Brow

I am almost positive you can find a dupe for this stuff at a drugstore, but I am just too afraid to stray from this product. I have relatively thick eyebrows but I do have some spots that need a little love and this product makes my brows feel full and keeps them together (sounds like an ideal boyfriend, TBH). This will also give your brows some dimension as it adds some no makeup highlights to them!

4. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer

No, you’re not old. But this stuff will bring back those toddler-like under eyes. It has a sponge applicator, which I like more than the typical doe-foot applicator. For concealer, I always go about two shades lighter than my foundation just to brighten things up. This stuff will make you look like you actually got more than three hours of sleep because you were binge-watching rather than sleeping. I like to apply this product with the sponge that is included and to blend it in with my fingers for the same reasons I mentioned with the foundation. Giving a more natural no makeup look to your under-eye. You could also use a sponge if you don’t like the idea of using your fingers.

5. Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer

The smell of this alone will sell you on this product, I’ve never been but it smells like what I’d imagine Hawaii smelling like as soon as you get off the plane. It blends easily, they have three different shades that work well with multiple skin tones giving into the no makeup illusion. But seriously, the heavenly scent will start any morning off right. A light and fluffy blush/powder brush is my favorite way to apply this product.

6. Maybelline The Falsies Mascara

The most annoying part of using mascara is getting it off, for me at least. But the ones that come off easily usually lack in volume and length. This mascara is truly one of a kind. It comes off easily with the rest of your makeup and still does its job. It’s not thick, its actually a very light and thin formula which would normally deter me from recommending, but this is nice for a no makeup, makeup day.

7. Wet n Wild Photo Focus Primer Water (coconut)

After writing this I think I need a tropical vacation because I am again going to mention the intoxicating smell of this. This isn’t a crucial step in your routine but it does feel incredible and adds a sheen to your face which tends to make things a bit more natural. This is a nice refresher for when you’ll have your makeup on for a longer period.

You’ll need a small, precise brush for this product if you don’t want to look like the tin man. When put on your nose and the cheek bones, it’s incredible. It is for sure a dupe for Kylie Jenner’s loose highlights, so you can feel ~boujee~ while on a budget.
