Ohio weather is something that cannot be explained. One day it’ll be 60 degrees and sunny, then before you know it, you’ll look out your window to find snow covering your lawn. Athens is no exception. Whether you’re from out of state or are familiar with the bipolar weather at OU, we at SOCIETY19 are here to be your personal weather stylist for this upcoming year at OU.

Summer Outfits

Girls:

Tanks and shorts are key for your time spent under the sunny weather in Athens. Cute, yet casual outfits will keep you from overheating whether you’re walking around campus, or attending a football game. T-shirt dresses can be dressed up for the bars with heels, then made casual with converse. Don’t forget to pack a lightweight cardigan to wear on those chillier summer nights

Guys:

For guys, some staple items should include khaki shorts, cotton t-shirts, and tank tops. These are your best bet for looking sexy and stylish for all the college hotties out there. Sunglasses and baseball hats are must-have accessories for outdoor parties and walking to class. Just don’t be that guy that wears his sunglasses inside too. A button-down shirt and boat shoes wouldn’t hurt either.

Fall Outfits

Layering is key for the fall time in Athens. You never know when you might be facing a long walk to class in the sun. Overalls are perfect because of their pant bottom and essentially sleeveless top. (PSA: Overalls can also be incorporated into your winter looks by adding a long sleeve top underneath). Cropped pants will quickly become your best friend, and so will lightweight jackets. Fall is when cute accessories like scarves come into trend; so grab a few lightweight ones for this time of year

Khaki joggers and lightweight shirts will greatly assist you this upcoming fall in looking fly on campus, while not getting too cold during your long lectures. It will work best if you choose short or quarter length sleeved tees. Lightweight workout shirts and pants will work best on the colder days in Athens.

Winter

Girls:

Every girl knows leggings are a MUST for the winter. Pairing them with an oversized sweater or a nice hoodie will keep you warm, while making sure you catch the eye of that cutie in your English class. A winter hat will help you stay warm on those walks to class. Don’t be afraid to pull out your favorite dress and pair it with tights and a fuzzy cardigan.

What I Learned About College Parties at Temple

Guys:

A heavy pullover or sweater will make sure to keep you warm during your long walks to Court Street when you can’t seem to remember where the 20 dollars went for uber that your mom put in your bank account on Monday. Guys also love sweatpants, but make sure they aren’t the same sweatpants you wore in middle school. Investing in a nice pair will make a world of difference. A fully functioning winter jacket is also an item that you cannot leave your dorm without in Ohio. Warmth is the goal here people!

Spring Outfits

By the time spring rolls around, everyone is eager to wear shorts and t-shirts, but honestly Mother Nature would look down on this. Slowly integrating warmer clothes into your wardrobe is key. Wear pants that are ripped or are made with a lightweight material, or try wearing pants paired with a tank top.

Pull out your button-downs, boys! Use these so-called summer items and rock them with your favorite pair of jeans and sneakers. Boys can essentially transform their summer wardrobe into a sprint one by adding some basic jackets to their closet. Bomber and utility outerwear has been trending lately, so we at SOCIETY19 suggest these styles. Buy a jacket that you could see yourself wearing almost everyday. Jackets can get expensive so make sure it is worth your money as well.
