One of the top movies coming out this summer is Spider-Man: Far From Home. Based on the Marvel Comics about Spider-Man, we see the return of Peter Parker after the events of Spider-Man Homecoming. The film is directed by Jon Watts and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers with Tom Holland reprising the role of Peter Parker. The characters will take a trip to Europe where Peter Parker will get recruited by Nick Fury and then team up with Mysterio to battle the Elementals. Spider-Man: Far From Home is set to hit theaters on July 5, 2019.
The Dark Phoenix is another of the top movies coming out this summer, with it being the twelfth installment of the X-Men franchise. Set as a sequel to X-Men: Apocalypse, Sophie Turner will be reprising her role as Phoenix with other notable actors such as James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence also making an appearance. Directed and written by Simon Kinberg, the movie is set a decade after the events of X-Men: Apocalypse. The X-Men are set to fight against a solar flare, but Jean Grey will lose control of her powers only to let loose the Phoenix. The Dark Phoenix is set to hit theaters on June 7, 2019.
Another of the movies coming out this summer that has many fans excited is Men in Black: International. Directed by F.Gary Gray and written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, the movie is a spin-off from the original Men in Black series. The film has a star cast with actors like Chris Hemsworth, Liam Neeson, and Rebecca Ferguson. The plot revolves around London-based agents fighting aliens around the world. The movie is set to hit theaters on June 14, 2019.
An interesting movie coming out this summer is The New Mutants, based on the Marvel Comics of the same name. Meant to be the thirteenth installment of the X-Men franchise the movie strays from the usually fantasy to included horror. Directed by Josh Boone and also written by himself and Knate Lee, the movie is about five youths discovering their abilities and working to control them while simultaneously trying to escape from the secret facility that imprisons them. The New Mutants is set to be released on August 2, 2019.
A nostalgic addition to the list of movies coming out this summer is Toy Story 4. Directed by Josh Cooley, with script writers Stephany Folsom and Andrew Stanton, the toys find themselves in another family fun adventure. After being given to a young girl by Andy, the toys now get a new addition to the family while Woody encounters Bo Peep. Toy Story 4 is set to hit theaters on June 21, 2019.
Last on our list of movies coming out this summer is the movie many have been waiting for – The Lion King live action. The movie is completely made with photorealistic computer animation and an impressive cast of voice actors ranging from Beyoncé, Seth Rogan, Donald Glover, and more. Directed by Jon Favreau and screenplay by Jeff Nathanson, the plot will mainly be kept the same. There will be scenes that were similar to the original animated version, but new scenes will also be included. The Lion King live action will be released on July 19, 2019.
