Makeup Products to Give You a Colorful Look

Calling all makeup lovers. Spring and Summer are coming and while our outfits change, so do our makeup looks. We often look for something colorful to wear in the Spring and Summer, and like our fashion, we want looks to match our outfits. Many products help you achieve a colorful look, whether you are looking for a pop of color or a full-out bold, colorful makeup look. Below, I will share the products to use to achieve a couple of colorful looks for the warmer days ahead!

Lower Lash Line Pop Of Color

So this look is perfect for someone who is a little taken back by too much color on their faces or eyes. You can achieve this look by starting off with neutral colors all over the lid. I like to use Urban Decay Primer Potion or Too Faced Shadow Insurance for any eyeshadow look to ensure my shadow is flawless. doesn’t crease, and stays on longer. Next, you will need a neutral or nude color for your entire lid. I use the Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics Palette for this.  If you use the Naked 2 Palette, try placing the color Primal all over the lid, then apply the color Cover towards the crease of your eye, and finally place the color Undone in the outer corner of your eye and make sure all colors blend seamlessly into each other with a fluffy brush. For the brow bone, place the color Skimp, and don’t forget to also put this color in your eye’s inner corner. Now onto the pop of color; for this, you will need eyeliner and a matching shadow. Try using NYX Epic Wear Liner for this next part. Take a bold color such as Blue Trip, an aqua green color, and apply it to the lower lashline. If you are not a fan of eyeliner, you can also use eyeshadow. Try the Huda Pastel Mint palette, as there are plenty of color shades you can throw on your lower lashline if you are looking for greens. If you want a baby blue color instead of green as your pop of color, try NARS single eyeshadows in Baby Jane. Finally, add some lashes or mascara. I like to use Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara or Maybelline Bambi Mascara. For the rest of the face, you will use your favorite foundation and a neutral lipstick. I suggest Kylie Cosmetics Bare Matte Lip Kit. For the highlighter on the nose and cheeks, try Becca Cosmetics Shimmering Skin Perfector. There are many shades to choose from, so you can pick what you think works best with your skin tone. Add a bronzer of your choosing, and you are ready to go!

Colorful Pastel Trio

As always, be sure to prime your eyelids for the eyeshadow. Try Lost In Los Angeles by BH Cosmetics. Start by applying the shade 90210 all over the lid. On the bottom lash line, apply the color Abbot Kinney or Melrose. You can drag it down a bit, but don’t go too crazy. Finally, apply the color LAX to your eye’s inner corner and blend it into the pink on the top lid and the purple on the bottom lash line. Once you are done, apply your favorite mascara, do your brows, and of course, don’t forget to apply a light neutral color on your brow bone and light blend it into the rest of your eye shadow. Below is how it should look.

Reverse Pop Eyeshadow

So, like the first look, this is a similar concept, except you will not have the pop of color all over the entire bottom lash line. Start off with your primer, and then apply a neutral shade to the inner lid and outer corner of your eyelid. Next, apply an aqua shadow or pastel color of your choice and apply it from the center of your lid to the inner corner of your eye. Carefully turn your brush and continue from the eye’s inner corner and the start of your bottom lash line to the center of your bottom lash line. Take your neutral color you started with and continue from the bottom lash line to the outer corner of your eye. Apply a lighter color to your brow bone and blend it into your shadow. For this look, it is perfect for the beach or summertime.  Try a nice bronzer on your cheeks, especially your cheekbone. Be sure to apply a little blush to give you some color to your cheeks and stick to a neutral gloss or lipstick. If you go bold with the eyes, keep the lip light. You may want to skip mascara for this look, but if you want to make the look bolder, you can Maybelline Bambi or Falsies.

Lucky Green

Green is a popular color to use on the lids and looks pretty on most eye colors.  March will be coming, so will St. Patrick’s day, so you may want to keep this look in your back pocket if you want to be festive. You can also use this look for the holidays if you are not big on red. As always, start off with your primer and a clean brush. Apply a pastel green to the center of your lid and drag it straight across your lid and blend it up into the crease of your lid. Next, take a darker green and apply that to the outer corner of your eyelid. Be sure to blend. Next, take a white and apply it to the inner corner of your eye. Take the same lighter color or white that you used on your inner eye and apply it to the brow bone. On the bottom lash line, you will apply the same green in your crease and outer eyelid. Finally, add your favorite mascara. For the greens, try the ColourPop Mint To Be palette. If you are looking for a pastel palette, try Maddie Ziegler’s amazing palette, The Imagination by Morphe.  Next, use Nars Orgasm blush for your cheeks and apply a nude lip color of your choice. Remember, if you do bold eyes, keep your lips neutral or nude. You want to avoid a clownish look and draw attention to your eyes.

Which of the looks above do you love? You do not always have to apply a lot of color to your lids; try a pop of color, use eyeliner to the bottom of your lash line, and start off small. You can always find a look perfect for you and try some more colors this Spring and Summer.
