In order to have the best makeup, you need to start with the best tools. The key to your makeup routine is having the right makeup brushes in order to apply your products. Simply buying the most talked about makeup products is not enough. You have to have the right tools in order to apply them properly. This list includes makeup brushes that every girl needs in her makeup collection.
1. Flat Buffer Brush
This is my favorite brush for applying foundation, BB cream or tinted moisturizer. This is really the only brush you’ll need to create a flawless base for the rest of your makeup. I prefer using a brush like this one to apply my face makeup, rather than a sponge. A brush is easier to blend products with and it ensures your makeup will look evenly applied with an airbrush finish. It provides great coverage and allows you to put on the perfect amount of makeup. I love this flat top brush because it makes it so easy to distribute your product evenly on your face. It also allows you to blend the makeup down your neck, so your face makeup matches your body as well, which is a must. This particular brush is the Y6 brush from Morphe. It is a very high quality brush that is long-lasting as well. It is also affordable at only $10 at Morphe.
2. Fluffy Powder Brush
The next step after applying your face makeup is to set it with powder. This will set your base and make sure your makeup stays intact all day without budging. Having the right makeup brush to apply powder is essential. This E.L.F. cosmetics powder brush helps apply powder products and dusts them on in the perfect amount. It can be used for face powder, translucent powder, or even brush or bronzer. This brush can also be used wet or dry in order to create your desired look. This brush is extremely soft and distributes the product evenly. It is absorbent, but only applies the right amount of product, so that you don’t end up looking too powdery. This brush is also a great deal like other products from the E.L.F. cosmetics line. It can be found at stores like Ulta or Target for only $6. This brush is a great value because it is also long-lasting and durable. I have had one of these E.L.F. inexpensive makeup brushes for over a year and it still works great.
3. Fan Brush
This is another face brush that I just can’t live without. I like to use this brush to apply highlighter and blush as well. This type of brush is the perfect shape and size for applying products to the apples of your cheek, which makes it great for highlighting and putting on blush to add some color and glow to your face. It allows you to apply these products in a small amount, so that you don’t overdo it. This tool helps you avoid applying too much makeup, which can look messy. The Pro Fan Brush #65 from Sephora runs at $28 and is a super high quality brush that will last you for many years. However, if you just want to try out a cheaper version of this brush, many drugstore brands offer cheaper alternatives that can get the same job done.
4. Flat Shader Brush
This type of brush is a must for any eyeshadow look you want to do, no matter how simple or complex it is. If you love experimenting with eyeshadow, then you simply need this brush. This brush is perfect for applying eyeshadows directly to your lid. I most commonly use this brush when I am doing a simple eyeshadow look, which involves applying one single color all over my lid. This brush’s shape makes it perfect for packing pressed powder or cream eyeshadows onto your eyelid and putting the product right where you want it. The color will be applied vividly without leaving any fallout around your eye. The smallness of the brush allows you to also put color into your inner eyelid corner, which can be a hard spot to access with other brushes. The Sigma Beauty E57 Firm Shader Brush is a great option that can be found on the Sigma website for $16. This product also comes with an amazing 2 year limited warranty, so you know that you will be ensured a quality product that will be replaced if needed.
5. Blending Crease Brush
This is another must-have eyeshadow brush. This type of brush is fluffy and features a tapered-end that allows you to apply and efficiently blend colors into the crease of your eye. It’s perfect for creating any multi-color eyeshadow look. This brush is necessary to create any eye look. It helps blend out harsh lines and makes all the colors blend together smoothly. This brush will help you blend out eyeshadows and make your look completely professional. My favorite option for this type of brush comes from Morphe. This blending brush is called the Morphe M330 Blending Crease Brush. It features natural bristles, which are soft to the touch and gentle on the eye. This brush is $7 and can be found at Morphe stores or at Ulta as well.
